I got back last week and used Vanessa at Shuttlebug and could not give a bigger shoutout.

The prices were very reasonable and she is helpful in so many ways.

Here are some highlights.
1. Texted her when I landed and when I went outside after customs she had a sign waiting for me.
2. She provided all sorts of tips and suggestions for my stay.
3. Very easy to talk with, very easy on the eyes (she is taken by the way) and punctual.
4. Took some detours, whether to get drinks, bathroom or pickup fish for the trip home.

I think she would actually be a great wingman as she understands our needs and desires and is very personable.

I forgot to mention the the help with my COVID test.

Since the USA changed the rules, we had to find a place within 24 hours of the flight.

She searched and recommended a place that is national since it would be easier to contact them if the test did not come in time. So she detoured, took me there as we were heading back from Jaco and within a few hours had my results to get me home.

I can confirm that Vanessa at Shuttlebug is topnotch! Just pent a week and a half in CR and she provided transport for me and my buddy to and from the airport and Jaco.

She now has internet in her car so you can surf while riding to your destination.

How much should we typically tip?

From airport to hotel she was charging $30 last year and I gave her $40.
On a trip for a day at the beach, she charged me $160 and I gave her $180 plus lunch and snacks.
Now that I know her I also bring boxes of chocolates from the States.
Hope this gives you some idea. I do not know what others give as tips, maybe more.

There are no new entries. A friend of mine is looking for a trusted driver, who can hang with them and be their driver for the week. Somebody who can be like extra "security" to make sure nothing happens.

I met Ericka one night at Gringo's in Jaco, where she works as a waitress. She is very friendly, speaks good English, and as a bonus, she is easy on the eyes! She is in a relationship and doesn't play around, but she knows the area and has a flexible schedule.
Ericka offers tours around the Jaco area, she will deliver food or groceries to your condo or hotel, and can also provide airport transportation ($100 each way between Jaco and the SJO airport). She has a very nice Toyota Cross, and her rates are in line with other services.

I use Jendry, she used to be a bartender at sportsman for years and I have known her awhile. She will hang out with you and take you anywhere.

I will be arriving late this month and have made arrangements with Vanessa and her shuttlebug services. Its annoying to use a Uber and they tell me to go to the main road with all my luggage, and the taxis will scam you.
