It would be great if DiDi was 40% cheaper than Uber..I used DiDi the other day in El Centro. It was a 4 min wait which is longer than an Uber would be usually. Talked with the driver as he works for Uber and DiDi. He said both services were the same setup. Similiar prices etc...I think I paid about the same as I would have for Uber. But it was just one short trip.
Now my buddy who lives in San Jose thinks Uber is over charging him as the same trip he often takes varies from 3 to 5 mil. As the first estimate is the high one and gets cheaper as he gets more estimates. He often has to pay the rush hour high demand charge. He uses a foldup wheel chair that the driver has to stow away in the trunk. So this may affect his rating and pricing. He is Canadian so he is not a tipper.

The uber drivers I've chatted with have indicated that they receive 75% of the fare (plus any tips)
Considering the relatively high price of fuel in CR, and maintenance factors, it's hard to tell if the drivers make any money, or if they are just churning cash flow.

As a rider, let's take the lowest price quoted and go from there. If Didi or Lyft are cheaper to use than taxis or Uber, what the heck.

Uber's technology does adjust fares based on traffic and also based on demand.
