Hey guys. So my plans have pushed up. I can make it out to Colombia on the 14th. Hoping to see if there are any wingmen out there. Going solo without a lick of spanish isn't how I want to start my trip though. If there aren't any fellow mongers out there during the time, I might change my plans to CR. Just checking with everyone before I decide.

I'll (with 1 or 2 buds) be there nov 15th with remedial spanish skills. We have a few CR trips under out belts. Lets try to meet up somewhere. Probably will book a condo a few blocks from Parque lleras. I believe we need to start "networking" with the locals but an not clear how to do it. Will need a local/burner phone. Any advice from seasoned professionals?

Wakes up to having computer/ipad/his phones/money/wallet/passport - shit, why do I bother.. everything of value.

In the long run, he is able to get his documents back, at least, so he can leave the country... but only after going detective by getting a new phone, creating a fake tinder profile, and then setting up a date again.. working with
police ( who don't even arrest the group of people who have this tourist-robbing operation going )

I think the only way to use Tinder is just to verify up front that it's p4p.

Agents, spies, special forces, etc. have a term, OPSEC, which stands for operational security... Trying to ensure your own safety and the safety of your mission by having your plans made, thinking ahead of what could go wrong, and having your eyes open, in short. Leaving your drink alone is an elementary failure of OPSEC... especially in the "decentralized" environment there, where you're more or less on your own.
