Based on what I've read here, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at the Cocal are very good, while Sunday through Wednesday suck. I'm going to be in Costa Rica soon and it's probably going to be difficult to make it to Jaco over the weekend. My questions,

How would you compare Sunday through Wednesday evenings at the Cocal to the Del Rey? Is the number of women and quality a lot better in Jaco?

Would you expect to have any problems getting a room at the Cocal in June if you didn't book ahead very far?

Thanks in advance!

Well, Guess I'll just have to answer my own questions. I was there on Saturday and Sunday nights, but only spent the night on Sunday. Saturday was better, but not a lot better. The majority of the women I met were from San Jose and other places in Costa Rica, who basically commute. They might go to Jaco on Thursday or Friday and stay on until Sunday or Monday or Tuesday. Then there were some who lived in Jaco. And one who took the bus from Panama City, was going to stay for 15 days and then go back home. No problem getting a room. They didn't even ask me for a credit card number.

Reading other threads here, I picked an ocean front Junior Suite. Unfortunately it was close to the restaurant and just around the corner from the bar and so was really loud until they shut down the bar for the evening, which was around midnight on Sunday night. The suite was large. My criticism would be the bed, which was hard as a rock, otherwise it wasn't bad. Somebody here compared it to a Marriott Courtyard. That's taking it too far, it's not nearly that nice. However, the place was designed for the monger. They had something like 6 towels and 5 bars of soap in the room, and of course everyone else is there for the same reasons you are, so no walk of shame and the like.

I met one woman who lived around an hour and a half from Jaco. Several days a week she takes the bus to town, getting there around 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM. She stays at the bar at the Cocal until it closes and then heads to the night clubs, and doesn't stop work until a bit before 5:15 AM, as the first bus back to her hometown leaves at 5:30 AM. Then she gets her daughter ready for school, does household chores, etc., until about noon, grabs a couple of hours of shut eye, and does it all over again. And many of her customers are ass holes. Not me of course, haha! She had come to Jaco on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and I was her only customer that weekend. That sounds like a tough life if that's all true. And not particularly lucrative, at least that week. She had a nice body -- slim, store bought breasts, very petitie, and no baby damage. As far as her face goes, it would depend on your tastes -- she looked a little like a young Barbara Streisand. Since I've had a lifelong fantasy of banging a borderline midget who looks like Barbara Streisand it worked for me.

I lolzd.

I was there last night, although I'm staying at the Palms Condos. It was absolutely busting at the seams with women. I'll go so far as to say there were TOO MANY to choose from... I know where I'll be next Fourth of July.
