Short and to the point. Yes. It's the same owner, but a completely different class of people. Amistad consists of a bunch of bitter, old, and hateful men who remind me of the gringas in the United States. Jealous of the youth and high levels of testosterone. Also, the old bitter hateful men have done a piss poor job of training Carol over the years. You have to ask her 3, 4, and 5 times to bring you a drink. Completely unacceptable.

Castillo, on the other hand, is a laid back positive vibe hotel with a younger like-minded crowd: party time! I think the younger crowd at Castillo should start to run the older crowd off like the older crowd TRIES to do at Amistad. Service at Castillo is on point.

I've been called a lot of things over the years but never a bitter, old, hateful, man jealous of youth & high levels of testosterone. Guess I'll start stayin @ the Castillo to get an attitude adjustment.

"bitter, old, hateful, man"....1. Nonsense, I've NEVER stayed at Amistad.

I've had two friends come and visit me who stayed there, one was in his 40's and the other his 50's. Neither bitter, old or hateful, but I'm teaching them....

I do hear that phrase a lot. It's usually from old bitter hateful single women my age back in the USA who are friends of my friends and inquire as to am I single and available.

My friends then tell them about my monger habits in Costa Rica...had one just last week...she then sent me a curt comment on my fb page! She told me I DESERVED to have a stroke having sex with one of these chicas :x ...I don't even know her!

I replied with a true story (or urban legend)...Once a lady politician in Britain's Parliament was so frustrated with Winston Churchill, she stated "If you were my husband, I would put POISON in your tea..." Winston, not missing a beat, replied "and Madam, if you were my wife...I would DRINK IT!!!"

No more comment from that one, and just in case...I blocked her...

I have one friend who stays at Castillo, he's ooooold...but he gets lots of poonage, so based on my observations, he's neither bitter nor hateful... 8)

Why do I think one of these more savvy bitter hateful old guys spotted a honey this inquisitive inexperienced newbie was not pulling the plug on yet and contemplating approaching, but beat the snot nosed K*D (my mother's affectionate loving description of me when I was young) to the draw and sauntered off with her as the punk sat there grinding his teeth at the bitter hateful old rascal saying "NOT AGAIN!!!"

I've stayed at L.A. 8 or so times and have always had great service from the staff. I have seen a few younger mongers pout because they couldn't "charm" their way into Karol or Ruth's pants and then complain the service is poor.....

Oh, and I find it hard to believe SinCity has never been called a bitter, hateful, old man. :D :D , maybe he is just hard of hearing.

Very funny!

I stayed there in April for a week and the first week of May.
When I was checking in on 01 May Karol had brought my Cuba libre to me at the front desk while I was still checking in.
