What are the best Spanish schools in Costa Rica and Colombia?

Best includes: quality of instruction, comfort, quality of the area, things to do, girls.

The best 2 Spanish schools in Medellin are universities: EAFIT (in Barrio Patio Bonito, Poblado) and UPB (Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana) in La 70, Estadio Laureles.

I have taken classes at CRLA Costa Rican Language Academy up by San Pedro mall and was very happy. I would learn almost in 1 week going 6 hours a day for 5 days what I learned in a Semester at my local Community College.

Yes, I have read about EAFIT. That does sound like a good school with excellent facilities in a good location well worth a little extra cost. I believe they also have a campus in Bogata.

It sounds like there are several Spanish schools in Heredia. Supposedly, that is a good area without many English speakers to study and practice Spanish.

A younger friend studied and prepared for the DELE exams in Xela. I wanted to go there, but I’m concerned that Guatemala is now too unstable without out of control crime.

Don't try to mix Spanish schools and girls. They hate that. Meaning the schools, the teachers at the schools, etc. Have some kind of a cover story. Guys that come to CR or Colombia for the girls are not looked on very favorably anywhere, so best is that you don't do that... you are there to learn Spanish, etc.

If you are serious enough about Spanish to sign up at a University...great. May take that question away somewhat. But at CRLA for example...they can probably spot "us" a mile away...so the best you can hope for is to not feed that suspicion or assumption...you are there to learn Spanish, you may want to retire there...whatever. Don't let on it has anything to do with chicas…at best you may be suspicious but they may give you the benefit of the doubt if act the part.

I agree that school, and everyday life among the locals, needs to be kept separate from mongering.

Hey, I read your message and I can give you some advice. I am from Colombia, I travel a lot but I know the girls of my country. It doesn’t matter the place that you choose to study Spanish. There are some Universities like EAFIT that are really good as they told you, but there are some places, a lot smaller but with classes at different hours. Also you can get a teacher for yourself and pay for hours.
As for the girls, there are a lot of options too. You can find them in some places in the streets but I don’t recommend this because it can be a little dangerous. It’s better if you go to web pages where you can check the numbers and the pictures prior to any encounter. I can recommend to you the page where I check them out, because they have young girls, expensive, more cheap and mature.
I know that in schools and universities a lot of girls work offering services of *******, but 99% of them do it undercover. They don’t want any friends or family to know, so they don’t usually show their faces and you can’t approach to them in person. That’s why I recommend the internet for this.
Check them out and share your opinion. Good luck!
Here’s the site I told you and my personal favorite: https://pasionprepagos.com/*******/medellin

I too would tell them I was staying somewhere other than a hotel in the Gulch. A couple of my teachers knew by the end of the week I was not a saint, but I also did not discuss any of the goings on in the gulch with classmates. The homework I was given on a daily basis consisted of what did you do after class and needless to say I had to leave out the working girl part.
