I'm talking my annual trip to Costa Rica again this month, and for the second straight year I'll be doing the San Jose-Jaco-San Jose run. Last year's experience was a blast, except for getting sick one day, so I had to do it one more time before giving Medellin a try next year.

The trip consists of a day in San Jose, then three days (over the weekend) at Jaco Beach, then three days back in San Jose.

I know the scene in San Jose isn't what it used to be, but then I seem to recall hearing all the talk of Del Rey being dead only to see for myself that it's still pretty lively (though clearly not what it was even 3-4 years ago. I didn't partake in the massage parlor scene last trip out (in part because of the time I lost to being sick) but I'm definitely going to fully partake in it this time around.

Jaco was a blast, with the talent level at the Cocal being amazing, and the ability to stay at a hotel right on the beach making for some relaxing days in the water.

Something else I'm determined to investigate is whether there are top-shelf pros in Costa Rica who are among the Instagram girl set. I follow a bunch of girls in Costa Rica on Instagram who are smoking hot and I feel could be pros. The fact that so many of them claim to be lawyers makes me wonder if that's a code word or some shit. Haha. I'm determined to bang at least one of the girls I follow on IG. We'll see if it happens.

I'm also hoping to actually get some value out of my CRT lifetime membership. I swear I feel like I haven't saved a penny thanks to the card in any of my most recent trips. Any suggestions/recommendations are welcome.

I'll be staying at Amistad again (I've stayed there probably 6-7 times), where the all-inclusive is a great deal, and the heavily-discounted Jaco ride for stays of at least four nights only adds to the amazing value.

I'll be providing detailed accounts of my trip, like I did last year (though I know I didn't finish out the trip reports after I got sick, I'll see about finishing those soon just for posterity's sake).

I'm used to rolling solo on my Costa Rica trips (I've done so on all but two of my 10-12 trips there) but I've met plenty of great guys on those trips and am always up for some camaraderie among like-minded mongers.

If anybody has any questions, or is up for connecting in San Jose on the 12th or from the 16th-18th, PM me.

Also at SL all food and drinks are 10% off if you show your card when you order.
There are dentists who offer discounts to CRT members.
Zona 2 gives you a 10% discount too.

It’s either the CRT discount or the all-inclusive. You can’t do both, unfortunately, and the all-inclusive is tough to top between the meals, alcohol and Jaco rides.

In case you didn't know, the ownership at Zona changed and they now call it Pension 506 I believe. it's been pretty dead, but the owner also bought Hotel Little Havana which is now connected, the bar and seating area is much nicer so most hang there, it's hopping around 4 pm except Sunday.

Very nice selection, Melisa is a catch, 30 y/o but baby face n smoking bod, looks 23.
