So in between being in between Ticas legs I want to detox and take in some rr, can you guys recommend a good massage place (non-happy ending type) that will knock out the kinks and dings and bring me back to 100% before I head back home? Maybe some place that includes a sauna and a steam room too.

On an unrelated note to the R&R, what’s a good Dry Cleaning place in SJ, I’m working 7-12’s up until the day I depart for SJ so I’ll have some wrinkled and or dirty laundry and would like have it washed and ironed there. Preferably a very trustworthy place as I have some expensive European wardrobe peices.

Hazel at La Amistad, she's a REAL licensed educated masseuse, I've known her and got massages from her for over 10 years and she's one of the greats.

She's pretty, cute and sweet, fun to be with, speaks English, is intelligent, but no hanky panky, but you won't care if a great massage is your desire.

Don't expect a sweet soft rubbing session, she finds the kinks and squeezes them out, you'll yelp like a puppy on the receiving end of the failing New York Times more than once...

Highly recommend...

I've heard SL, La Amistad and Castillo Hotels have "laundry service", not sure about "dry cleaning"...

There is a rumor that there's a "dry cleaner" service in a wealthy area of Escazu, my understanding is they shake the hell out of your clothes, beat them with a broom, and hang them out on a clothesline when its not raining....

This might be just what I need. Do you have a direct number for her? Is it at the hotel or does she come to you? Cost?.......Thanks.

Hazel has a room at LA and maybe Castillo too. She also does facials at Castillo. The massage costs $35-40. You can make an appt by calling LA. Money well spent.

Gentlemen,

Dry cleaning can be requested to be picked up, laundered and returned with a 2-day turn around at the front desk st Sportsmens Lodge.

Thanks,
Bill

Just call La Amistad and make a reservation, she uses a room there, has her massage table all set up, ready to torture...err...give you a sweet massage...

When she is done with you, it's similar to what many of us in our 60's experienced in THE 60's..."an out of body experience"...you'll be walking away but you'll swear you're floating away...

A Google Map seach for 'dry cleaner San Jose Costa Rica' might help, though (1) it will be expensive (probably 2x what it is in the US) and (2) why are you taking expensive European clothes (and dirty ones at that) to San Jose?

The girls won't be impressed.

[quote="MM3"] why are you taking expensive European clothes (and dirty ones at that) to San Jose?

In the interest of CRT brotherly love, if those expensive clothes are XXL shirt size, 38-40 trouser waist size, I will be happy to pick them up and leave some of my JC Penney/Walmart /Sears/Macy's clothes for him to use in the meantime, and get back to him with the expensive dry cleaned clothes...right away...
