A buddy of mine and myself took the inaugural/first flight Martinair made from Orlando to SJO back in early 2001(?). The airline gave out special commemorative travel bags with CR/Martinair printed on them. We were driving over from Tampa (90 to 100 MPH on Route 4), and arrived at the airport at about 3:30. The flight was scheduled to leave at 4:00. There was no way we were going to make the flight! We walked up to the ticket counter at about 3:50, and was told not to worry...the in-coming flight from Amsterdam was about two hours late! We checked in and proceeded to the bar for a couple of cocktails. That's one time I was glad a flight was late!
