It didn’t happen. Sosua was hit by so many other things. CD isn’t your culprit.

I was not insinuating that CD took Sosua down, but he did bring a lot of attention to the town that was being overlooked because of the revenue it was generating. Who knows what exactly caught the governments attention about him, maybe someone had a daughter or niece that was seen in a video of his, and did not appreciate it, I certainly don't know. But I do know he has been banned from entering the DR ever again, so someone obviously had an issue with it.

i never went to sosua and have no basis to comment other than what he posted here about it and what other guys were complaining about
just seems like a classic LCD when he just happens to be around as two dynamic scenes are decimated

Nice analysis. Of course he was not responsible for the change to the scene, and of course he is not going to "bring down" another place. But anyone who opens there eyes and looks around can see that the anti-sex tourism sentiments are growing rapidly in Medellin, for example. High profile media events do not "cause" changes in law or policy, but they certainly can become touchstones that galvanize already existing forces.

I’ve been going to that area of DR often since 2009. There are just a lot less tourists in general.

For example there is one area near Puerto Plata that had a sports bar. Use to be packed with europeans watching soccer on weekends. The last few years it’s been empty.

Someone told me the biggest factor has been the bad weather during the tourist season. The weather patterns changed and they are getting lots of rain.

Last time I went the airport was flooded out by a storm.

They said some of the business has shifted to Punta Cana.
