But honestly I always stay at the HLH at least 2 nights because I go to the strip clubs and don't get in until 6a those nights and it's really quiet and the rooms have no windows great place to sleep and the price is cheap

Just called and verified that there is no guest fee. He said the only way they would charge is if the guest were to stay overnight, which I don;t see happening; well maybe my last night.

So next question I have is related to paying the hotel. I've seen various postings saying the best way to pay some of the hotels is cash USD, some say In CR currency, and some say they prefer card. What is the consensus in regards to paying Taormina ?

I think they hold the card but charge afterwards when you leave
Among all the hotels including sl etc..Taormina was hands down best for me but YMMV

are you saying Tao or SL said they might charge for an overnight guest?
that would be news to most here...

thats new i believe
guys said the Dunn inn was doing it and i actually experienced it a few years ago
was thinking about it and its been more than 2 years since ive been to CR
might consider not adding to threads since its likely dated info im passing on
at least w the on the ground stuff for sure
an additional charge for overnight would be a deal breaker for me though

I think they may be saying if you do not book the room for 2..they will charge 10usd for the breakfast for your guest..I had the same convo a year ago:) but they may have changed their policy now..

Not sure. I actually emailed them a few days before calling to get something definitive in writing that I would be able to reference if I needed it. I never got a reply (and still haven't as of this posting) so I called them a few days later.

Taormina rooms and breakfast were good
There is a very hot maid too:)
And at night there used to be ladies in the bar so no need to go out
This was 6 months ago though:)

I was over in that area a few days ago. Ate dinner at the fancy restaurant next door to Taormina and was curious about the hotel/casino since I saw a big crowd of ppl. eating at the attached restaurant.

Saw a few working girls walk out the main entrance. Pretty good quality. The only other ones I saw inside were hanging out in the Sports Bar section. Casino tables were pretty full.
