Pick one activity that you would prefer the most.
A good ATV tour is a blast but lasts most of the day.
Anything more will get in the way of the real reason to be there.

Meaning, company that is more or less drama free (if there is such a thing). Past experiences in DR have resulted in only 5 of 7 "drama" free experience such as asking for more $ right before getting started or after one session. So I'd like to stick company that doesn't do that.

Yea, I think we're going to stick to zip-lining but if there is some time, we'll wing the ATV stuff.

We are planning to stay in Cocal in Jaco. What kind of rates should we expect to pay for company around this time (coming Presidents Day weekend)? When we get to SJ, most likely going to stay in La Amistad closer to Sunday/Monday. I guess we should go to the Sportsman Lodge for company (same question: what kind of rate should we expect to pay?). Thanks in advance.

How much should you expect to pay or how much should you pay?

The chicas expect you to pay them whatever they ask. In Jaco, they will start at $150 (and even $200). I would't pay more than $100.

In Jaco the girls tend to be more mercenary and they want you to pay top dollar and get done fast so they can get the next gringo.

In SJ, since general tourism has been slow, the chicas are asking $100 - $150 but $70 - $80 is achievable.

If this is your first time you should go to the HDR to see it as well as the SL (of course) and even some MPs if you have the chance. There are normally more girls at the HDR than the SL (it's bigger and open 24 hours). Girls there (in SJ) can be mercenary cunts too which is why you have to interview and negotiate.

The HDR has been fairly busy this Super Bowl Weekend. You can see business being conducted, especially with the prettier ladies. Lots of fresh new faces, and more uglier, overfed heifers than I've ever seen. I'm curious if the top of the line ladies went to Jaco ?
Usually the HDR peaks around 10:30pm/11, but it seemed to be thinning out around 10 and then the music keeps the appearance that it's lively.
Thursday there was a Latin band and dancers set up in the lobby. The music was being fed through the sound system and was so loud it was hard to tell if the band was good or not.
Last night was a nice oldies rock band and the volume was just right.
The CRT Tica of the Month elegantly graced the HDR with her presence, and she left a couple of times without saying she'd be right back. lol

The hotel set up a projection TV in the lobby that is over 50". The Super Bowl should be fun to watch. The experienced ladies know that there isnt much business to be had during the game, so I expect a huge influx of eager beavers around 10pm

Thank you for all the sharing everybody.

So my friend and I are having trouble booking a place to stay in Jaco since everything is sold out. We wanted to stay in Cocal but theyare all booked. The people from Cocal said they would help us find a place with their affiliates but they werent able to. They said everything is sold out.

Does anyone have any other suggestions; we are looking at Airbnb's now? We are looking for a Friday night and Saturday night during Presidents Day weekend? What areas should we look at near Cocal? Thanks in advance.

I have had good luck at Beach Break Resort, formerly known as Morgan's Cove. No chica fees, nice pool, and more reasonable rates (under $100/day) than Cocal, Crocs or Mango Mar. The only thing that changed when they changed names is that there is no longer a Casino there. But Crocs is the only Casino I like to gamble at in Jaco anyway so no biggie. Here is the link:

Are you nuts? Colombia is DANGEROUS! They just chopped some guy up and packed him in a suitcase and left it in the street near Parque Lleras! Avoid Medellin! Another guy picked upa girl in Lleras, they went back to his place, she let her boyfriend in and the robbed him, cut him up and left him to die. NO! Stay in Costa Rica fellas! The HDR lifers may be a little more portly but you are safer there! :D

Still looking for a place. Most of the Airbnb’s are booked too. We found a couple of places which we’re looking into but we have to book soon. We prefer to be no more than 10 mins for Cocal.

Another question; what kind of rate are we looking at for an all nighter?

I dont know about Jaco TLN, but i recommend against it for your first time there. Considering chicas start asking for $150 for an hour, but will go for $100, your starting point for TLN is probably double that, depending on how late it is and what opportunities they have available to go elsewhere to churn and burn another gringo.

Chances of your time being worth TLN with an unknown chica are slim. They will know you are new and take advantage. You are more likely to have a better TLN in SJ.

So we finally booked a place on Airbnb. Its about 15 min walk from the main strip and basically on the beach. I am guessing things are going to be pretty busy since everything is booked. We are planning to hit cocal first around 7 PM. I am hoping thats a good time to be there (maybe someone who is already there can weight in). Hopefully we can score an all nighter. Does the company usually pay for their ride back or is that something you have to negotiate upfront? Other relevant tips are welcome as well. Cant wait...
