Spirit. I never pay more than 225 round trip. Airline sucks but can’t beat the price. Standing by for the Spirit haters to spew venom.

Part of the problem with Spirit was the terminal they were using in Lauderdale. It was extremely small, their flights were consistently late arriving and taking off and the only place you could sit much of the time was on the floor. I've heard they are in a different terminal from the last time I flew with them several years ago. Is this true?

Different terminal now. Still crowed but much better than before.

While I am sitting on the tarmac in Dallas for over an hour an an AA jet, because they were an hour late and now have no gate, and lieing the whole time about it, I wish I was flying Spirit.

Flying is such a pain in the ass now. But the rewards in CR are worth it. I have to fly an all nighter and I am totally dead when I arrive, not young anymore, but still manage to have a fun time the first day.

I've been flying Spirit since 2003, 2004 or 2005 era from Ft Lauderdale repeatedly and never had a problem and always get great prices. I love their midnight flight, sleep on the plane, breeze through customs, streets almost empty so quick blip to the hotel, check in, get immediate shut eye after a night at the airport and refreshed and ready for your first pounding the next day, no rush, no stress, no red eye...

I'm in their $9 club and get a combo offer of big seats, extra luggage, speedier get through, right to change date, luggage, seats, etc., etc, and still cheaper than most other airlines, so I love them.

They have two main problems, if you use them for connecting flights, you're always at risk of them being late, and try to get their customer service on the phone and when you do get one, it's a coin toss you're going to have to call back until you speak with someone intelligent.

Comparing Spirit's performance to AA's is like comparing a blowjob from a lawnmower with rusty blades to one performed by a 30-something stripper at the Pink Pony in Atlanta.

Spirit is terrible pretty much all the time.

Other airlines suck sometimes.

I use it if need be. It is a hassle, but for the price, what the heck.

There are $248 round trip flights out of FLL in February.

From FLL, why not just go to the MDE. It’s a direct three hour flight and it’s got to be cheaper than what you’re looking at! I’d be willing to bet if you went to the MDE, you wouldn’t go back to Costa Rica! JMHO,

If you can only take direct flights with Spirit, I think they are as reliable as most other US airlines. When I was flying with them, I never had a problem once I was on the plane. It is their airport personnel and administration personnel who are the problem. Also, the FLL airport is one of the worst airports I have been through.
