3rd trip to CR next Friday! Last minute opportunity and have stayed at Taormina/Zona II in the past.

I am actually thinking about staying at HDR for convenience and ease. I may be heading to Arenal or Jaco... meeting a friend so really winging it and want to book hotels along the way.

Any issues with HDR taking a walk-in with no reservation? Any difference if I pay all cash? Don't want anything on bank statements. Any sort of incidentals or deposit for cash payers? Also is the HDR ever fully booked? I figure if so I can just walk to Morazon or Taormina and find a place to sleep... but don't wanna be on the streets! Any help is appreciated!

Castillo has nice rooms at 35% off with CRT card, call La Amistad to reserve or check for your dates if you are winging it

I stayed at the HDR my first night wednesday May 11 and paid $65 a night plus tax and chica fees. Stayed on third floor facing Key Largo and for the money not a bad room. Also we got in about 9pm and the chica selection was very nice. I had a facebook "date" already lined up, she found me and I could not get away but a fairly good session. However we also stayed there on the last night(Sunday nite) in a room facing the opposite way. 3 hours of max A/C still couldn't cool the room. Probably the worst room I stayed in all my 16 years of travel to CR. So request a room facing Key Largo if you gonna stay there

Get a room on the highest floor.you can. Those are quieter.

For the money... LA, Castillo, or Taormina.

not too busy around town this week, many rooms available.
The SL & LA are offering great deals this summer
the DelRey is just a short walk or cheap cab ride away

For Phuck sakes, I know HDR is not at the top of the crt hotel list, but if one is going to stay, what floor should they stay, is facing the key largo that important if one's room is 4th floor or higher/? is facing the key largo that important for say morning bus noise? Are you shitting, or is the a/c an issue? i've been to cocal, and holy shit their ac kinda works after 6 to 8 hr of being on, and then it's like cold once one enters the room but hot after. not complaining, it's the tropics at sea level. I can easily take SJ weather no problemo.

If this was a real forum with ratings, polls, likes and such... this post gets my nod.

I have visions of guys pulling doilies out of their suitcase for the hotel nightstand.

OP you'll have no trouble and if you do it will make for a great story.

Spent some time @ the Taormina Bar last week & both nights there were 4-5 working girls at the bar area or on the couches.
