Has anyone rafted this river this month? I know its green season

Also has anyone done any white water kayaking in Costa Rica this summer? 8)

I did both rivers last July. They were great, the Pacure had more class IV rapids. Did not see many kayaks except the safety guys with us. Let me know what else you want to know. Have done white water on 2 different trips and Zip lines on 1 trip.

I lived in Hallandale last year. Got good deals from MartinAir
even drove up to Boca raton to picl up my ticket.
i took some kayak lessons in Turrialba on a smaller river.
rafted the Paucare about 4 times now.

what was your second river?
I glad to know I wasn't the only person on the board to get out of the
Gluch.

I haven't been out this summer but I've run the Pacuare before at the end of the green season and also a few times in the spring. According to "The Rivers of Costa Rica" by Mayfield and Gallo (highly recommended for anyone interested in canoeing, kayaking or rafting rivers in CR) the Pacuare is runnable from June through Dec. "although flows not entirely reliable in June and late Dec." Since I ran it in May without any problem, I suspect that description is overly conservative. You should have no problem at all running it this summer. Yet another book I read said that June and October were the best months for running the Pacuare. Go figure. I wouldn't worry about it. If you're really worried about it and are an experienced rafter or kayaker consider going on the Reventazon (spanish for flatulence ) instead. Its a year round river and offers the only class V in the country at its Guayabo section.

I also did the Reventazon. I inquired about the upper Reventazon trips and you needed to have enough experienced rafters to book trip on your own with a guide. I usually use Rios Tropicales for the rafting.

I have also booked trips with Mike at CRE
