Maybe we could separate the catagory into MM and CM that being Monogomous Monger and Cheating Monger. Or then again perhaps it could be CMM or PMM which would be Current Monogomous Monger or Past Monogomous Monger. Hell,as my friend Circus often says "I think I better have a few nips and really think this one out".

Monger
I usually think of fishmongers or even warmongers when I hear the term. I don't like it, it's just short for whoremonger and I think whore is a rude term to use for prostitutes (I prefer courtesans, but prostitute is also okay). It's also as accurate as whoremaster, both are used for patrons and pimps.

If I refer to other board members, I refer to them as fellow hobbyists, (hobbyist n: a person who pursues an activity in their spare time for pleasure) a more accurate description and not as negative.

Let's elevate our status.

Through semantics? Or like euphemistic "marketing"?

Sorta' like the difference between a "high dollar used car" and a "pre-owned luxury vehicle", eh?

"A rose, by any other name, is still a whore, err...a rose"

"Courtesan"? Geez...where did I leave my snuff box?
Anybody ever seen a "courtesan" at the BM or the KL? :o

"C*m dumpster" has a nice ring to it though, don't you agree? Hmmmmm.

Thanks for making my point.

I suppose it could be a version of semantic infiltration where you get the other side to use your words to win the war. I didn't think courtesan would go over well, what about harlot, strumpet, or trollop, just kidding, but I do prefer working girl, or professional.

However if you choose to view yourself as a C*m dumpster monger, so be it.

Senordos -- I know women locally who really are courtesans, in the ancient tradition, and unfortunately some have now moved out of my price range

I think it's more than a word game -- it is a term of respect, and it describes this profession as something of value for these girls to aspire to. A lot of it has to come from the attitude of their clients, and maybe someday we'll see that developing in CR.

The terms used locally are "hobbyist" (and "provider") and it denotes mutual respect, sharing of information and protection, and membership in a co-ed club of people enjoying a common activity. Without getting too heavy-handed about it, I think an attitude of respect is the most likely way to melt idiotic social (and legal) conventions in the US. (Not that I'm going to wait around for that day  )

Senordose, I never thought of the use of the word monger in that context, but you are right. A while back I had some heated debate chastising guys who used the W word to describe the chicas at the DR. I guess that mekes me a hypocrite without realizing it. Before finding CR (and other countries) when I participated in this activity back in the States we called it hobbying and refered to ourselves as hobbiests. Henceforth I for one will go back to that description. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

Personally I think that the concept of a monger and a hobbyest are both equally valid, but differ slightly dependent almost entirly upon ones view of relationships with the opposite sex. I view hobbyests as typically being married men, guys with a novia, or a single person who enjoys occasional dalliences in the realm of P4P to fulfill a specific need that is not currently being met, but at the same time view the concepts of marriage or having a novia as desirable and not a negative thing. On the other hand mongers in my estimation are those that due to various circumstances do not look upon marriage, or novia relationships as being desirable options. The only option for them is P4P. I get what I want with no strings and no hassles.
Hence, VB's question "How can you have a novia and still be a monger?".
They must be mutually exclusive.

Interesting discussion VB. Lets carry it one step further. If I THINK about want and lust after a prostitute/whore/provider...but dont act on it...does that make me a virgin? 8)

Personally, I have a GF, have been married a couple times and faithful in my marriages (which may be a major reason why I never marry again)...BUT, I still flirt and entertain the notion of being with various women I see down here...about every day. In my mind it's part of the male psyche even if subconscious. Many pursue religions and other activities to try and purge themselve of their "evil thoughts". But I say...we are all mongerers in our hearts. As a good ole book says somewhere..."as a man thinks, so is he"...

God, wine brings out the philosophical in me...
