Hey guys, I am seeking information about Limon. What is the best way to get there from SJ? I was thinking about taking a Carribean bus to Limon, but want to know how long that ride is. I plan to do some fishing there, and am seeking Tarpon and Snook. Do you guys know any decent places to stay in Limon? Do any of you guys have any fishing experience in Limon? What about the chicas in Limon? Is the chicas scene better in Limon than Quepos? Any info you guys can share will be greatly appreciated

Fishing-wise, you aren't going to find tarpon fishing in Limon (I don't think you'll find snook either).
The epicenter of world-class tarpon fishing is the
Barra del Colorado just below Nicaragua (and there's awesome snook fishing too, but more on that later), but it's a remote area and you go there to fish. Period.
To get there, you can take a bus through Guapiles to Cariari Pococi, then change buses and take the bus to the end of the road ("Puerto Lindo"), then take the bus boat to the Barra - $25 and all day. Or you can fly (SANSA) - which is what our guests do.
There's also tarpon fishing down by the Panamanian border, but it is nothing like up north.
The tarpon population in the Barra del Colorado is unbelievable. Huge fish (190 is average and over 200 aren't rare) and a resident, non-migratory population (you can catch big ones all year long). Most people see 8-10 strikes in the morning or afternoon and land about
Snook fishing is a little harder. Locals use nets or surfcast, but you can catch them in the lagoons and canals off the river too.
As far as chicas, I've found a lot of semi-pros on Badoo and Tinder in Limon and Guapiles. Unfortunately, when I'm in the Barra, it's actually easier to hop to San Jose when there's a break and enjoy the city.
I wanted my (apparently) ex-novia to show me Limon, but since she disappeared...
