Sometimes here and on other occasions, some of us who live in Costa Rica are asked to provide references for doctors or dentists because of the favorable cost differential between the quality care here and in the USA.

I came across http://www.hulihealth.com as I was accessing information on my excellent dentist, Erika Alfaro, whom I have been going to for years in San Jose and is recommended by them. HuliHealth only allows doctors to be on their site after getting recommendations from other top doctors or dentists. The user interface is very clean and clear. The only issue I had was switching the page to English because you have to click on text on the top of the page that says “espanol” to get to “english,” which has the same, easy-to-use information. I highly recommend using their service to search for doctors and dentists and book appointments at your convenience. As a former healthcare professional, I know they have definitely done their homework regarding recommended, quality healthcare providers. Interesting to browse the site. I am leery of when docs refer or recommend other docs, at least in the US, too much going on behind the scenes. A nurse who works for a hospital and is not associated with any doc, especially if she's working in the field I am interested in, I'll listen to. They know the fugg ups and the real McCoys.

Browsing thru SJ dentists, saw one female that has apparently recently bailed from a well known shop.

Been using dr. marco for about 4-5 years never had a problem -- YMMV
