Well, this hurricane ended up being a big to do about nothing. Worst part of the storm is 50 miles north of me right now and I've got no rain and no wind. It has been unnaturally still and quiet most of the day with just steady rain for a few hours. Actually a nicer day than most during rainy season. I doubt this storm impacted anywhere in Costa Rica outside the Atlantic coast and of course, the highway to Limon (32). Heck, the 7.0 earthquake 300 miles out to sea in the Pacific caused me more excitement than the hurricane did.

Great to hear you dodged a bullet! Earthquake on one side & tropical storm on the other. Wow  Since the storm made landfall in Nicaragua, CR's 170-year-plus record of not being hit by a hurricane remains intact. NOAA says it's the first tropical storm in CR in recorded weather history.

Second hand, actually. I'm in the US for foot surgery.

It seems to have missed SJ.

It is raining lightly this morning, a typical light rain in SJ.

Health and happiness to all............
