LaD. Your wish came true. ;)

Mattingly won't return as manager in 2016 Jon Heyman of CBS Sports was the first to break the story and described Mattingly's departure as a "mutual parting." In five seasons as Dodgers manager, the former Yankee first baseman held a 446-363 record. That works out to a .551 winning percentage. Mattingly also led the Dodgers to three consecutive NL West crowns, something that no Dodger manager had ever done before. He should be a wanted commodity this off-season, with the Marlins being rumored as a strong contender for his services.

Donny BBall would have to be totally desperate for a job if he took the Marlins gig. That franchise is a train wreck beyond belief, a cheapskate owner, but he would have a few great young players to build with.

The owner has so alienated the local fan base, probably beyond repair, no one shows up for games in his new ball park.

ESPN's Buster Olney tweeted that Gabe Kapler is "a serious frontrunner" as the Dodgers search for the managerial replacement of Don Mattingly.. He last played professional baseball with the Dodgers in 2011 and was hired as the Director of Player Development in November of 2014. The roots are already in place

As a life long Dodger fan, and after watching them all year, IMO they were lucky to make it as far as they did.

I am no Mattingly fan. He did not play positional baseball. No running, no sacrifices, no moving the runners around, and this was throughout the whole year, but.................

Management gave him 2 great starters, and one great closer. In between that was pretty much junk. The other pitchers had problems throwing strikes, and when they finally did, it piped right down the middle, because they were behind in the count. Their hitting was a joke all year. Throw them a breaking ball, or splitter, down and away out of the strike zone, and WHIFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Pretty much the whole team, especially Puig (trade him for a pitcher), did not have a good grasp of the strike zone. For some of that blame has to go on McGwire. They had a rookie that was hot in the beginning, and then couldn't hit his a** with both hands. They had a catcher that, supposedly was hurt, and then couldn't hit a lick, but didn't play Ellis who was very hot when he had the chance to play. Hitting with runners in scoring position, not in this season, and not only in the playoffs.

This is as much on management, as it was Donnie B-Ball. They need to get the poop (cybermetrics?) together and shore up the pitching and hitting. If they are as smart as their Ivy School degrees, we'll see.

IMO, the Dodgers were very lucky to have gone as far as they did. O.K. Mr. smart Guys in new management, it is now your turn to show all of that intelligence.

Also, whatever happened to the basics, such a bunting. They now play three players on the right side, and another at about shortstop. If players started to bunt, they would have to quit that crap. With the whole side of the infield open it shouldn't be that hard to lay one down.

Health & happiness to all..............

Hmmm. Let's look at the facts.

Cubs in the NLCS in 2015 add Jayson Heyward, Ben Zobrist and John Lackey.

Dodgers in the NLDS in 2015 add a broken down Chase Utley and ?? ;)

Happy holidays and a very happy new year to you as well my friend.

the nerds have stocked up on prospects and most anticipate a trade for a front line pitcher
that said its not looking like the team is going to be better at this point
if the best we can say is grienke didn't sign w SF thats pretty sad
but the cueto signing is at least ...suspect

No doubt the Cubs are heavy favorites to get to the series and win it, however the Dodgers are playing their best baseball and are the healthiest they have been late in the season, so who knows?

mets pfft
this team playing great ball and they overcame the most injuries to a team in the history of the game
our rotation was decimated and we still prevailed
this is a real team and no one is going to want us in a series believe that
