On his website, it says:

It's almost like he wants to go to jail for 8 years.
In the interest of fairness let me publish the rest of the quote:
While it is difficult to believe Dave will receive a fair trial in Costa Rica, it is important that he receive a competent defense.
First of all Dave has little or no control with what is being posted on the internet as he is locked up without any real access to the rest of the world. Second, when people are incarcerated in a manner in which CD is they sometimes act in ways that they shouldn't. The may lose some of their sanity.
Sanity is an illusive concept. Some people may think anyone who post 12,000 times on an internet website, often times with over 100 post on the same topic, is insane. It is just matter of perspective or opinion.
Unfortunately we do not have anyone who post on CRT who actually knows anything about the system of criminal justice in CR who could shed some light on what is likely to happen.
Now back to the quote, the person who published the quote is on the right path. If the CR authorites were being fair they would sentence CD to credit time served, now over a year, and kick him out of the country without leave to ever come back. Behind all of this is the fact that the underlying activity for which he is incarcerated "Promoting CR as destination for sexual tourism" is legal. We dont see the CR authorities closing down any whorehouses do we? They dont care if they have prostitution you just cant post about on the internet. The law is repugnant and against any concept of fairness. CD could wind up doing more time for being an egotistical blowhard than someone else does for killing or raping someone. That's phucked up !
