I went to Costa Rica the first time in April 2016. I stayed at the Sportsman's because when I called the Del Ray the desk would hang up on me. Maybe the person on duty could not speak English?

Any how I went in the Lobby Of the Del ray just to use there ATM. It wads extremely crowded on Fri Night.
I liked the personal level of Service at the Sportsman's and their day trips you can take to volcanoes.

How is it to stay at the Del Ray in the following areas:

Price of rooms Compared to Sportsmen'

Level of service from the staff

Any day trips to beaches and Volcanoes?

All hotels can book you a trip to activities, volcanoes, ATV, canopy tour, etc. They book them through various operators of these excursions, it's not the hotel taking you on the trip, it's a 3rd party. Hotels get commissions for doing so. You will see pamphlets/ads for these trips in every hotel.

As for the others questions, I'll let somebody who has stayed there recently answer them.

Del Rey is not that much cheaper than SL, unless you can catch them on a discount period. The rooms are shyt compared to SL, especially the Mansion wing at SL.

At HDR, you pay for the privilege of being right at the elevator. No need for a taxi. But wait! you need to pay again for that privilege. 5k to ride it with a chica! The SL doesn't do this to you.

I have stayed at the HDR prolly a dozen times now. I love the SL but never stayed there (my loss). My preferred place is Zona because it is quiet at night (and daytime onsite action, no chica fees, etc).

I always stay at HDR when I visit CR, I like to be in the middle of the action, and I like the convenience of picking a date at night and bringing her to my room with no hassle. I find the HDR rooms large, convenient and clean, the maid service excellent and the general staff will jump quick if you have a complaint. In my experience, the HDR room price plus one visitor fee is still lower than SL.

Guys who prefer SL enjoy nicer more modern rooms, a quieter atmosphere, quieter neighborhood and low key friendlier environment. There are a small group of girls at SL but HDR will usually have 5 to 10 times the choices.

If you stay at HDR, get a room with a window third floor or higher, SL, don't get a room off of the bar, both are noisy.

In short, if you love being in the thick of the action, HDR is your place, if you like to have a quieter classier room away from the craziness but still close enough to get to it, SL is your better bet.

Zona2 and the penthouse was my haunt. God I loved the sound of the rain on the metal roof and being able to have sex on the balcony.....
