They instituted the new policy ten days ago. Didn't tell after I made my reservations a month ago, and they didn't tell when I checked in. Found out when my friend showed up and they called me at the front desk.

So, you can share a room, pay for a double, but you can only register one guest. That's it.

Someone told me some nutter from Nicaragua invited two girls he met at a disco to his room, killed them, then hid the bodies under the bed ("They'll never find them here!" he must have thought.) then fled, He was caught at the border two days later.

However, I think some guest must have invited some loud and/or drunk and or vandal/hot tempered chica to the room, the staff could not ignore it, and the owner changed the policy.

That's why we can't have nice things.

The double murder didn't occur at the Dunn Inn.

None of that happened at Dunn Inn ..it all happened by a illegal Nico at Hotel Second Ave, near Chinatown in SJ on August 4th and has nothing to do with any of the mongering scene in the Gulch. Guy was caught at the border and is awaiting trial. It was a isolated very tragic incident.

I hope it will be shock and awe for them.
But unfortunately it won't be, if they lose business they will just raise their prices to compensate.
I loved the old downstairs bar there, not the sports bar, but when they closed that a couple of years back it was the beginning of the end.

I have walked past the restaurant at the Dunn Inn many times and have seen many ticos in there, mostly for lunch, not so much for dinner. I hear it is rather pricey, though and I would much rather go to the nearby sodas. Maybe they will be able to survive without us.
Again, if mongers would keep a low profile, maybe these hotels would not have changed their policies

The Dunn Inn was my prefered hotel. I will not be staying there any longer with this new policy.
