Ive been searching for accommodations in Jaco and to be honest Im not a big spender and prefer not to spend too much on hotels as Im always out during the day and hotels just for sleeping. I will be doing lots of tourists things too on this trip and will be mongering half the time.

I see that the hotels in jaco are quite pricy. At least the ones being discussed on this board. I'm wondering if any members can kindly point me to a girl friendly hotel for around $60 or less.

Thanks,

Cadillac Rock is about the only one I know of (slightly over your budget at around $70 per night)

Cadillac Rock is about the cheapest followed by The Poseidon then perhaps Morgan's Cove. Hotel rooms in Jaco are expensive because electricity in Costa Rica is ridiculously expensive and the A/C for a room might cost $20 a day or more.

Check out Clarita's special. Buy 3 & get the 4th night free. $210 for 4 nights. Has a fun bar. Rooms are a little rustic. There are some YouTube videos to show you what to expect. A short walk to Croc's and Copacabana.

i stayed at Cabinas Iguana in Jaco. it's $34-40 per night, weekday/weekend ( pay this double occupancy rate at check in and you get unlimited for the day ), pool, jacuzzi, and some of the working ladies stay there. no a/c, but good fans and you really dont need it. hot water, clean.

it's a block and half from cocal, half a block up from pops and the taco bar. the supermarket is three buildings down.

Is this place guest friendly? I didn't see one single review by a "solo" on Trip Advisor. I, too, am looking for an alternative to the Cocal during the week. On the two weekends I'll be in Jaco, I "will" book the Cocal.

And I assume Clarita's is guest friendy also?

I rented a room at Cadillac Rock by the hour. Very clean. A/C was excellent. No idea if all the rooms are the same but it would be doable for what u say U want.

If you are somewhat discreet, there is the Posada. $80 a night for a room/efficiency. Has a kitchen and two bedrooms. Pool also. Could be family's there also.
