They both have rooms available. I've stayed at SL in the past. Will I be disappointed if I stayed at Taormina this time? Thanks for the replies.

As brandon said "Apples and Oranges".

First, I have to start by saying I've never stayed at the SL (usually because of timing and room availability). So my only experience is the bar. And usually I'm just there for 'take out'.

Rooms are rooms. Taormina has nice / okay rooms (2&3rd floor) and very nice / luxurious rooms (4th floor) at good prices - no chica fee and a nice location (close enough to walk to places and still quiet). Lately there are more and more chicas there. The Italian restaurant is okay.

SL has a nice bar, the food is good, and you've stayed there.

For a variety of reasons I've always wound up at La Amistad (the all inclusive is an excellent deal) but the rooms aren't as nice as Taormina or SL (from the pictures). It is, however, a good place to relax at the bar.

I'm staying at SL in August because I haven't yet (I still need to stay at Zona II and HLH). One issue I'll have is that my favorita is banned and can't enter the premises.

If you like the casino atmosphere, try Taormina. Nice restaurant next door. Nice lounge and bar just to hang around. Good happy hr. More of a Tico atmosphere. I think there is a better set of options there since all the SL girls are catering to the Cien Boys. There are more newbies at Tao, looking for a chance to score. Closer to the overpriced Zona II also. Walk to the SL for lunch.

I love the Sportsman's my only issue is that it's always booked lol. So many times when I look at making reservations I would have to switch rooms 3 or 4 times. But hey when business is good business is good. I got lucky enough this trip to secure 1 room for the duration.

With that being said I'd recommend the SL over Taoramina. If you can't get a room at the SL I'd go to the Dunn Inn or the Amistad.

Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate it!
I was able to get some nights at the sportsman and the remainder I got at Taormina just to check it out. I've stayed at the amistad before, the all inclusive was good but just a little too quiet for me. Everyone could hear the chica moaning!!
If they had chicas at the bar area like the sportsman that would be perfect.

Checked in the Tairmina 30 days ago. Got to my room and then found out no air. Turned around and checked out. Was promised a refund but never got it. Another cien down.
