I happen to think that Ding Dong made a very astute observation here. There is a great difference in helping out a chica that you have been seeing regularly (be she a hooker,amiga,novia or God forbid espossa) once for a reasonable amount of money. ($100 certainly seems reasonable to me) Whether you "take it out in trade" or not seems to me to be a personal choice that is none of our business. LV Steve's situation to me bears no resemblance to guys who come here once in a while,Phuck some strange chica a few times and know nothing about her. Then decide they are in love and respond to her "I love yous and want to be all yours" bullshit. These guys are the fools who send money based on the form letter that the chica sends them. Ziggy's situation appears to be different from either of the above since she has never performed sex for money in spite of the easy access to doing it, and it is even legal. I also have no problem with what he is doing if it makes him happy.My only suggestion would be that Ziggy shouldn't get too carried away with helping her because there is is high frequency here in CR of guys being very disappointed with the actions of these chicas. Once again It is the emotional let downs that bother me rather than the financial. Moey is easier to replace than feelings being hurt.

Money is a natural part of it; it is just more hidden in our culture (until you write the big check to the ex and her lawyer). European men (and plenty of other cultures) have had mistresses (not the kind with whips either) for millennia -- we're just new to the game -- in this case, it's complicated by distance and language (substituting for class divisions in Europe). But we're lucky to get to "buy in" to the great chica game so cheaply. A chance to learn it that we could NEVER get so clearly at home.

I'm not a poker player, but it occurred to me yesterday that a lot of this is like that game. You have to ante up to be dealt a hand, and you have to call some bets to see the other players' cards. And to know when a chica is bluffing? Well, you gotta learn to read her tells. And when she folds, well, you get all the chips (for that hour, at least )

(Probably also prolonged the family's life, too, as I was less of an immediate monetary target with each passing year.)

I took an amiga shopping on Monday and felt great afterwards. She brought one of her ninas with us and made for a special afternoon. She was not agrressive at all and I had to suggest things for her to buy. After shopping, the N*na wanted some ice cream so we sat in the park enjoying the weather and the special moment that only adorable innocent Ch*ldren can provide. It was priceless!
