Hey Guys,

It's been a while since I made my way to Jaco and last time Pops drove me there. I've been doing some research for transportation and everything people suggested from the $5 busses to the $39 shuttles all leave I. The morning. I will be arriving Weds night around 8pm and was wondering if there are any shuttle/busses/taxis/uber that will take me to Jaco around that time.

Thanks any advice would be great.

Taxis from the airport will take you. Negotiate the fee beforehand. Also, private car service like Pura Vida Transport can be hired. www.puravidatransport.com

Try Uber before arriving. Last quote I got was $40.00 up to four people. That was from Escazu. I am sure you can still get that same price from the airport. Good Luck.

I just got a fare quote on the Uber website for Escazu to Jaco and it is quoting $120-$150. https://www.uber.com/cities/san-jose/

I'm gonna have to rethink my rates if I am cheaper than Uber...

$15 from the airport to Escazu. $40 from the Airport to Jaco. I need to find the name of that driver. With gas at $5 plus per gallon and ten dollars in tolls it costs me close to $40 just to drive to Jaco and back not considering the cost of maintaining the vehicle. Minimum gas use is 6 to 7 gallons plus tolls(180 plus miles) . I think the upper end price of $120 to $150 is more in line with what you will get charged. Add to that the chance that the flight will be late, waiting at the airport for the customer to get clear and get outside and 3 to four hours driving time. Anything close to $100 is cheap. There are ways to get around Costa Rica cheaply if you know how. Part of knowing how is having a very flexible schedule. Arriving at 8pm limits what you can do. Another part of getting there depends on how comfortable you want to be. Buses are cheap here and reasonably comfortable but you go on their schedule.
