Saturday, October 31st @ 6 pm

Join us for the first party event at the soon to be inaugurated Hotel Taormina in San Jose, Costa Rica. Formerly known as Mona Lisa, the Taormina is located on the corner of Av 11 and Calle 3A, and across the street from the Dunn Inn. Hotel Taormina is expected to add to the excitement of Barrio Amon with fully remodeled luxury hotel rooms, casino, bar and restaurant.

For Halloween the new management team is celebrating with a DJ, drink specials, costume contest and a body painting exhibit by Alex Tatoo. Prizes will be provided for best costume and best female dance performance. The party will start at 6:00 pm in the newly remodeled bar. There is no cover charge for the event.

I cannot pronounce that name. Hopefully it means something, because if someone just shit that out of their ass, they need help.

Love the hotel and restaurant, though.

Taormina is a town in Sicily. Pronounced as if you were speaking Spanish. I guess they are trying to convey an upscale Italian mode, along with the Italian restaurant. But if they try to go too upscale like the new Dunn Inn restaurant, I think it will fail. So far so good.

Seriously, is it "Toe-ar-meena", "Tau-ar-meena", or other? "ao" is not a dipthong in either Spanish or Italian, so I cannot find a pronounciation guide for it.

I prefer to get these things right on the first go'round.

The name is a Sicilian beach resort town. It sounds the same in Italian and Spanish.

The word on the street is that Mona Lisa was being converted to a gay focused hotel and bar by the new owners. Is that correct? If you hear otherwise, are you sure that what you hear is correct?

No, that fell through a long time ago.

Mattyice is correct. The negotiations between the former owners and the gay group fell thru a long time ago.
