San Jose is dead that time of year so there's no way they are raising prices, but all beach hotels jack up their rack rates for Christmas/New Year and Easter week by up to 25%, if not more.

went one new years and never again. new years eve only girls in del rey were the few bar tenders. id stay away that time of year

I have to tell you, I went for Christmas and New Years one year and stayed at the Del Rey. I was a working man at the time so this was the only time I could go. I had a blast! Completely different than other times but I had more than I could handle. I should mention this was over 15 years ago. Beats sitting at home in the midwest in December.

Got a room at Cocal for 4 days 12/30 - 1/3. No problem at all. Novia is bringing her girlfriends with her. Looks like I'll be having a good time. Thanks to all who responded.
