Hey guys, thinking about heading down to Jaco for New years. How is it down there for that holiday? Can I expect it to be dead or will it be bountiful? All info is appreciated!!

San Jose is dead that time of year so there's no way they are raising prices, but all beach hotels jack up their rack rates for Christmas/New Year and Easter week by up to 25%, if not more.

I have to tell you, I went for Christmas and New Years one year and stayed at the Del Rey. I was a working man at the time so this was the only time I could go. I had a blast! Completely different than other times but I had more than I could handle. I should mention this was over 15 years ago. Beats sitting at home in the midwest in December.

Got a room at Cocal for 4 days 12/30 - 1/3. No problem at all. Novia is bringing her girlfriends with her. Looks like I'll be having a good time. Thanks to all who responded. :P
