Hey guys,
Some friends of mine heading to San jose for the weekend, arriving Friday 10-30, leaving Monday 11-2. They always rely on me for details and I will not be with them this time sooooo, they waited and called me today about rooms. I'm sure everywhere I stay (LA, SL, DR, ML) is booked. They need a room or 2, 2 queens, no Chica fee and conveniently located to the gulch for Friday Saturday and sunday. Anyone know of ANYtHiNG??? Would appreciate on their behalf for information. 800 # at Mona Lisa is not working, at least the one I have is not. Again, any info would help.
Thanks in advance!

Jac

Mona Lisa has renovated "premium" rooms on 4th floor for $110-120/night, less 10% CRT discount.

Is The Hemingway Inn still operating :?:

That might do if you're in a jam about a room.

Chica fees at the Hemingway?

Anyone know the chica fee at Sleep Inn? My buddies are considering there.

Thanks,

Jac

Morazon may have some rooms. I haven't stayed there in 5 years but I always had a great time there despite no water for 24 hours, elevator beak downs, TV remote never works, key safes. 5 floor Jr. Suites are okay for $ apprpx $75. no chica fee for 1 at a time, but $25 for 2 chicas. Usually a beat down outside in the early morning hours

In a pinch, use the Gran Hotel, book with dual occupancy, and use the back entrance. If someone asks, just say you forgot to have your 'partner' sign in.

Worked well for me for several trips. Though keep in mind I wasn't bringing harlot-looking chicas back with me. YMMV.

Please verify this, but - to the best of my knowledge - the Sleep Inn chica fee is $35 each time you take a girl into the elevator..... and The Hemingway Inn has NO chica fee (and NO elevator  )

Morazon as of yesterday is booked. Hemingway has rooms so I think that's where they'll book. Is there AC at the Hemingway? Any idea on the condition of the rooms there?

I have never stayed there, but it does not look like they spend much money keeping it up. This is my observation from the outside appearance. But the location is great with easy walking access to SL, Z2 and NF.

Hemingway review: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=46900

I have never seen a positive review of that place in 10 years.

Something else to consider:

stayed there last halloween weekend. it is what it is. very friendly staff free brreakfast rooms are old. did not have a chica fee last halloween but asked that you didnt make a lot of noise late and have crazy parties. but it beats sleeping in the park with all of bashful's friends
