Hi All,

I've been to the sportsman in San Jose 3 times within the last year since I found out about CR last year. I was thinking about going to Jaco as it has been recommended by the chicas. Can someone guide me as to which hotel I should stay at, and at a fairly cheap price close to the action. Some does and don'ts as well as some good eatery in the area. Average price for a 1 hour "connection" would be great too. Del Ray and Sportsman I was paying $80 for a "connection". Not sure if that is good or bad but I would like some tips.

Thanks in advance.
WT

PVT might have some insight for you on places to stay but for the few dollars in savings you might be better off just staying at the Cocal. The convenience and no guest fees might make up for the price difference of staying elsewhere that charges guest fees.

Check your private messages cnbc...I sent you all kinds of info on Jaco two days ago. Look for the 'new messages' link in the upper left part of the page.

Both Cocal and Mangomar have beach entrances, seconds from each other.

Thanks ione98. I just got a quote from Hotel Mango mar at $90 a night. Does that seem right? I will be there 11/28 to 12/4 which is considered slow season according to their website.

$90 a night?? Is that what you consider budget...that is very close if not exactly what Cocal charges with CRT discount.

At that price why not stay at Cocal, unless they are booked!

Hotel Cocal is showing $150 a night as the cheapest price for the Courtyard on their website. If its $90 a night I'll take it right now. Where exactly are you getting your price from bandon843? I am also a CRT VIP member. Didn't know that CRT member discount can be applied at Cocal.

Can't access their website right now, but the rate will depend on the time of year you stay there...You do get a 10% discount with your CRT card. I checked my bill from my last stay there, in May 2015, and the room was $120 minus the discount = $ 108 per night, courtyard, all taxes and bfast included...you're right, not $90, got tricked by my memory there

To get CRT discount you got book directly with hotel and present your card.

MM charged me $80 this past July 4th weekend, CoCal was $125 for same time period.
Not exactly 1/2 but 1000X quieter & again only 3 min walk to the CoCal bar & every chica knew where the MM was.
