There is a glitch I cannot get past. I have a Hyundai phone. Everything I try to launch Whatsap I get an error screen that says

YOUR PNONE DATE IS INACCURATE. ADJUST YOUR CLOCK AND TRY AGAIN.

I've adjusted the clock. Nothing. I went to the web and found that this is an android system glitch and all you have to do is delete the app and download again. I did. Downloaded the ap through Play Store.

I'm still getting this message.

Any ideas?

I don't know that phone, but I would suggest deleting the app then rebooting the phone and then reinstalling the app.

Is your clock set from your provider? Is it properly adjusted to your timezone and the effects of Daylight Savings time? Is your clock displaying the correct time in the timezone DST that it claims to be in? Is the date correct as well (including the year, an easy one to miss)?

If so, then adjust the time an hour forward until the app responds correctly. The phone I use in CR was set up in the states, but WhatsApp was installed and registered on my CR number when I was down there, so if I try to use anything but that TZ and MST, Whatsapp complains.

I have an Android 4.0.4 Motorola phone. I use Whatsapp in CR, Colombia, and the US with the time adjusted manually, and I don't have any problems.

I realize not everybody will want to do this, but I bought a new phone, sim card, and minutes one morning in CR after unsuccessfully trying to find a sim card that would work in my US tracfone. I may be paranoid or ignorant of phone technology, but I feel much safer with a separate CR burner phone and number that avoid FB or Whatsapp, particularly when I read posts like this: viewtopic.php?p=544155#p544155

It may not be the best or most economical way, but so far it has worked for me. I have been getting along without Whatsapp, for good or ill.

It's a good product. No one ever said you had to share your information with hookers. I live by Whatsapp and use it to stay in contact with most of my people. I don't even have a facebook page.

Need more details as to phone. Specifically: What model of Hyundai phone are you using and is it unlocked?

TracFones are worthless in CR and are fixed on the TracFone network forever and a day. They're great for what they are, but they're useless for international travel.

Hopefully, you didn't get hosed on the phone you bought in pair o dice and it's a quad band world phone. If it ain't, buy an unlocked quad band phone on ebay for under $20.

FYI: A TracFone which ends in the letter "C" is a Verizon network dependent phone. A TracFone ending in "G" is an AT&T dependent phone. (Info for USA usage).

The "C" stands for CDMA, the standard that Verizon uses. The "G" stands for GSM which is what most of the rest of the world uses.

Check these out for more info on international cellular bands, etc.
