Wrapping up doing the plans on my first CR trip.
I plan to go in September and wanted to know if that still a good time for Jaco / Cocal hotel?

Anytime is a great time to go. You will find temperatures hanging in the mid 80's and some rain as it will rain about 2/3 of the month with an average rainfall of over 17 inches. The evenings cool down to low 70's and the water temp should be low 80's as well. Even when it is raining it is pleasant to sit in an outside bar and watch the rain fall and continue drinking. It will let up after an hour or two and you get around just fine. You might want to take or buy an umbrella but unless you need to be somewhere walking you probably wont use it much. It will be pretty humid so take powder for your balls (jk) and even though it is cloudy take plenty of sunscreen as that shit is expensive to buy in CR.

Hi, thanks for all the great info, but one question.

I was wondering where is Jaco is good for us to pick up a lady late at night. We will not land at SJO until 11:10pm and will have a driver to take us to Jaco from airport. We will get to hotel, grab a quick shower, and want to head out for a beer and hopefully find a lady for our 1st night. Where could we expect to still be open around 2am in May?
Thanks

Ask your driver for a couple of girls and play with them on the way down. By the time you get through customs and baggage claim you will be lucky if you make it by 3am. I am sure there will be some stragglers around and so you should be able to negotiate a good price. You might even pass one in the hall as you are going to your room so don't be shy and ask her to come with you if you like the way she looks. Don't forget to hit the Duty free liquor in baggage claim as you will not find cheaper prices on booze after you leave the airport. 1 liter Crown was $24.00, If you like Rum try Flor de Cana 7 year for $20.00 1 liter. Johnnie Walker gold is $54.00 for a 750ml.

I think Duty Free closes at 9 pm, no help for someone arriving after 11 pm.

Maybe upstairs when flying out but I have been there after 11:00pm down in baggage claim. I will be back in July and have the late night flight so I will let everyone know.
