Truly one of the friendliest, open CRT gents I have met in this thing of ours. Always in a great mood and enjoying life. I remember shooting the shit for hours on end with Muffy at the SL. Always a pleasure to hang with.

RIP mi amigo!

I last saw Muff in November 2014 as we were both staying at the SL. Always a ball of energy, cheerful and a good conversationalist. He as others will dearly be missed. RIP brother.

Never met in person (that I remember) but exchanged a few PM about locations we've each enjoyed.

Life is too short!

RIP

Oh my god. I'm phucking speechless right now, I have tears in my eyes. Mario was a true friend. We talked every couple of months for the past 8-9 years. We saw each other a couple times per year (usually in Jersey, i.e. Atlantic City--he was a very skilled poker player), but not as much as we would have liked but shit always came up. It seems so trivial now the excuses we make for not picking up the phone or driving the 40 miles to see a real friend. I had not heard from him for a few months and was getting worried that he might be sick again, he had some health issues in the past few years. My wife and I invited him to our home a while ago but he didn't really like driving into NYC so it never happened. I was thinking about him about a week ago and was going to get in touch now that the weather was nicer so we could get together. I was thinking about going to pick him up and bring him. But that chance is lost. I feel like shit right now.

To show you what a kind heart he was, I'll tell you a short story. My wife (then girlfriend) was celebrating her birthday in April 2008, a couple of months before she came to the states. I mentioned to him in passing that I can't hang because she's coming to pick me up at SL so we could spend the day together to celebrate. When she arrived, he handed her this nice teddy bear and card (which she just pulled out of her momentos binder that she keeps). Her "amigas" didn't give her shit or even say happy birthday, and this guy she knew through me for only a little while gave her this gift which flooored her. I just told her about his death and she started crying.

RIP hermano, we will miss you dearly.

Another reason to cherish your buddies and stay in touch with them. I didn't know muff personally, but enjoyed his posts. Life is so short.

This is very sad news indeed. The first time I met Muffy was during my second trip to CR in August of 2006 at Don Gordo’s birthday bash. At Idem, Muffy and Don Gordo sang a mean “Mack the Knife,” which impressed me greatly as the both of them were accomplished crooners. We became friends and the next year, for my birthday, Muffy brought a karaoke set up to SL, serenaded me, singing Mack the Knife, and gave me a bottle of Centenario with the leather cover.

I partied with him many times in CR and in Medellin. He was a passionate, generous and thoughtful man and will be missed. Rest in peace Amigo.

Ciaociao

Heartbreaking... I'm still all choked up as I just heard the news... What a guy... Mario swore he could make every gal C*m with his oral skills, and he had the biggest mouth on CRT, the mo'fo' couldn't keep a secret to save his life... But he was kind soul with a big heart and an incomparable generosity... he was my fellow Puerto Rican "tío"... and he was my dear friend. I just talked to him recently to compare notes on when he'd be going back to CR or perhaps Medellin, and we agreed perhaps December would be when we'll most likely cross paths again in MDE... Painful to know that will be the last conversation I will ever have with him. Always taking about having a Ron Centenario together as he always convinced me to do... I'll make sure to have one in your name the next chance I get.

Cabrón, te extrañaré con cojones... adiós Tío Mario.

-Ruff
