OK, so after reading about the thefts from the safes why wouldn`t you put your money in the casino safe? I was there for a month and that is what I did and had no problems. Come on guys use the grey matter a little bit more!

Why should the customer have to go out of his way to prevent nefarious acts by hotel employees/management?

Exactly the point, John. How would the management at ML feel if we all just stiffed them on the bill?

Ok ; so I`ll go to ML for $40/night, but my money in the casino safe and you go to Zona2 for $100/night using the room safe. We both feel our money is safe but you are paying $67.80 us with tax /night more than me. There is just no out smarting you Americans. Plus you would have bean bag chairs. I have stayed at the ML a total of 40 nights and haven`t lost a dime because I listen to good advise and take precautions that I will use in any hotel I stay in . When I stayed at the Castillo I always put my money in a small gun lock safe before putting it into the room safe. Why would you trust the hotel employees any more than the hos you have in your room? I treat the maids nice always tip them every day but I still watch my back the best I can. IMHO

Regarding the safes at the Mona Lisa Hotel. We had problems in the past. I am not aware of a safe problem in the last 6 months. Six months ago we fired the night security guard, the night watchman, the night maintenance man. Since all the problems were happening in the night. Since we did that I am not aware of any problems. No one has come to me or the General Manager and complained. We installed cameras in the halls of the third and fourth floors since then. We also recommend anyone with a lot of cash use our Casino Bank safe. This is available from 8am till 2am every day. Your money is 100% guaranteed in the casino bank safe. Anyone that has had a problem with a safe in the last 6 months we would encourage to contact us so we can investigate the problem. We want to help you if you have a problem but please contact us. OK, so the the original poster of this thread says he lost $330 out of a hotel safe yet he didn't report it? That fact alone makes me wonder if it actually happened. If you are the victim of a robbery, why would you not contact the owner, the manager, the security guy or the Policia?

Again, not saying that it didn't happen but...... :?:

Greengo are you telling me that the nice Nigerian fellow that I sent $5000 to, won't be sending me $100,000 once his inheritance is released?
