Hi everyone,

I've tried searching the boards for this information, but haven't had any luck.

I will be on a surf trip in March and will be staying at a place in Hermosa that will not allow any guests. I was in Jaco several times, but back in the late 90s and early 00s. Back then, I didn't have a place in Jaco either but the girls would take me back to their apartments for some fun. I know how different the scene is now, but I'm wondering what happens if I go to the popular places to look for a tica, but don't have a room?

Will they have a place? Will I have to try to but a room? Any thoughts?

Best advice is the hourly rooms at Cadillac Rock. No onsite security but for a quick one and done, it should work just fine.

Is that a place I should book the room before heading to the bar, or would it be easier to get one after I pick up a girl? Sorry for the additional question - I just know you are the expert so I want to make sure I do this correctly.

My best advice would be first thing, when you get to town go by there and ask about availability. This high season, there have been some weeks/weekends when even they are booked up solid. If they don't have many rooms available, it might be best to bite the bullet and get one for several days to make sure you have a place. Poseidon would be another good choice for something like that.

If Cadillac Rock is pretty open, then I would just go there after I found someone to take and do the hourly rate. If you go first and get the room, they will probably want the full night rate instead.

It may be less expensive to just stay in Jaco and get a taxi (or bus) to Playa Hermosa every day to surf than to rent a second room in Jaco every day.

Don't forget Wednesday night (Ladies' Night) at the Backyard Hotel bar!
