I will be coming in June and going to Jaco for 4 days Wednesday through Sunday morning. I would like to stay in SJ for Sunday and Monday night flying out Tuesday. Which hotel do you suggest for San Jose?

Both are very good places to stay in the gulch, and very popular with the CRT crowd. SL has working girls on-site (hanging out at the bar), while Amistad does not. Amistad offers All-inclusive packages for room, food and drink while Sportmens offers an a la carte plan. Where you stay depends upon what is most important to you. If you purchase the CRT VIP subscription, you will be eligible for additional discounts at both Sportsmens and La Amistad.

Thanks for the reply BD. Looks like SL it is. I like the a-la-carte and the talent hanging around. Second trip to CR, can't wait to be back.

You can do a la carte at La Amistad as well, and just pay for the room.

Everyone has their own preferences based on their personal tastes. Where ever you end up staying, take the time to visit the other places for your next trip.

Both places great. You can't go wrong with either one.

Even though Amistad does not have girls, they are only about a 2 minute walk away and welcome to return with you. I would not base my decision on the girls, bar or restaurant at SL since you are welcome to go there without booking a room....
