Worst part is there's a DJ playing loud Latin hip hop or I don't know what it's called but that music is absolutely awful and giving me a headache. It's the type of music that has zero rhythm and just keeps playing the same beat over and over and over again.

+100

What happened to James Getman...doesn't he play there anymore? I saw a band play there about 15 months ago, with Jim and a second lead guitarist as I recall, and they were great!

That quickly gets to the core question--who is that music for? The Gringo patrons or the Chicas and staff?

I say it is for BOTH groups.

Classic rock, C&W, rock and roll and all that jazz is boring to most people... except old fuddy duddy gringos.

If you all are so anxious to only listen to Elvis crooning "Love Me Tender", maybe you're better off in Nashville.

LOL at the "zero rhythm music" comment.

MH...how will I recognize you in the SL...will you be the guy with the Beats headphones around his neck :)

Beats headphones...inferior, over-priced, POS headphones. Very hard to find the technical specs online (I wonder why  ). If you can find them, you will discover that they are terrible, especially at the price point they are retailed for. A perfect example of the power of marketing. They retail for around $300, while they're worth perhaps $130. Manufactured by Monster, the same company that for many years sold hugely over-priced stereo/audio cables (most sold in the $100 to $300 a foot range  ) Beats was purchased last year by Apple for several billion dollars :!: Once again...check the technical specs, if you can find them :)

They are the best if you are out and about--very tough construction and excellent noise-cancelling features. For around the quiet crib: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-RS-180 ... r+wireless

Now THOSE are impressive specs...3-65000hz :!:
I hope the audio source you listen to with those is not compressed (MP3, AAC, etc) :)

Is that similar to the Pono Player, which Neil Young's new company developed last year?
http://www.digitaltrends.com/music/neil ... p3-player/
The initial funding for the company came from a Kickstarter campaign.
The Pono Player, which apparently sells for around $400, is something I'll have to look into :D

Not certain about Pono Player. The Fiios is an amplifier specifically for use with headphones which really enhances the sound quality allowing you to also control bass and treble. Even on a high quality, i.e. $400 set of headphones it does wonders to the sound quality.

A personal BIG shout-out to both Bros, BondTrader and Gringotim. These are both outstanding products especially for the music fan(atic). Fiio has a new, enhanced version either out now or coming soon of their E10 unit (the E10K) but the E7 is good enough for these aging ears: http://www.headfonia.com/the-latest-mus ... sb-dacamp/ For the E7: http://www.whathifi.com/fiio/e7/review << the above means these will be available at discontinued/blow-out prices. On the PonoPlayer: They also offer highest res streaming and downloading services.
Why I find the Fiio products useful (not that you asked...): I post a lot on a music message board, posting links to YT vids. This makes it much easier to control the alarming differences at which music is posted and listened to. I just ordered one. And again thanks to both Bros--highest traditions of CRT and all that.
MY BAD: The Fiio E10/E10K are desk-top units; the E7/E7K are walk-arounds. I wasn't clear above. Sorry.
