I'm a CR newbie having never visited but I did live in Bangkok for 7 years and ran 9 bars/Gogo bars so I have at least that experience.

Unfortunately, Thailand is too far to travel for a 4-5 day bachelor party so the decision has been made to visit CR.

It will be a small group -less than 10 people and there is a considerable budget so I'd like to plan an upscale trip -not that there is anything wrong with penny-pinching but that's just not what we are going for.

We are there to support the groom and to ensure his (and our) enjoyment and happiness without having to constantly being worried about $.

SO my questions:

1. San Jose or Jaco? We're not going to CR for the jungle trips or fishing as much as for the relaxation beach/pool/sun/naughty activities.

2. Any night time "must dos" or venues we "have to" visit?

3. In terms of accommodations since we would all like to stay "together" I have been considering using one of the VIP services where they provide a 8 bedroom "mansion" on the beach, have a private chef, etc. Any feedback either way with these services?

I really appreciate your help with this and I apologize if I'm asking questions already answered in the forum -I looked but I might have missed some answers.

Thanks!

H.

I recommend you contact Jimmy (Lucky 13) at Zona II. He has accommodated bachelor parties in the past and I have seen nothing but rave reviews.

I suspect that you and I have some mutual friends. Are you one of the old nanapongers?

If you have 4-5 days, you could do both. If you want nice beach/pool/sun, you want Jaco. If you want a wide range of naughty activities, you want San Jose.

I think everyone should see the Del Rey. I'm on old Thailand hand, and I was still impressed by the variety of Del Rey.

Los Suenos is very nice but 6 miles from town. I would rent a condo at Vista Mar so I would be right in the center of the action and at least 1 night at the Del Rey

I've been to Los Suenos many times - however, have never stayed there and never tried to bring in "guests"

Its not famous for that - and a bunch of rowdy guys with their girls are bound to attract attention - Los Suenos is also "iffey" as to whether you would even be able to bring in girls - I could be wrong - but before I would book the place (truly beautiful) I would find out and be damn sure - b/c I've heard its "difficult" - to use a word with many meanings in Thailand :) :)

(and you likely know exactly what I mean, 'Hit)

Actually, if you stay in the homes across from Marriott resort there is no problem with guests. I have stayed in the homes there the past three years and there is no issue. The guests do need to leave their "papers" at the security gate.

I agree with buzzfla. Rent a large condo in jaco at either vista mar or diamanté del sol, and spend the last night or two in San Jose.

Thank you guys for all of your help/tips. We booked through JACOVIP and got a 12 bedroom villa(s) on Jaco Beach which looks very nice.

All of the guys attending this bachelor party are coming from all over the stats and almost all are married and/or in high stress jobs so we decided for better or worse to just stay in Jaco (we are only there 5 nights).

I am a little concerned about there not being enough talent for these guys to "devour" and am wondering about importing some talent from San Jose...any suggestions?

Unlike most punters, all of us are coming to CR to enjoy without a real budget so we'd rather pay a little more and receive better treatment/quality...although as all of you know it doesn't always work out like that...

Anyway thanks for your help. If you guys need any help going to Thailand or specifically Bangkok let me know as I would be happy to help you.

H.

If everyone else is married you might want to think of telling the spouses you are staying in Manuel Antonio as if they look that up they will not find much on Sex Tourism but if they look up Jaco it will be in their face. Get on VRBO and see what homes are available or look at Expedia and find a hotel to tell them you are staying at. It might save some headaches down the road.

You will have no issues finding girls in Jaco so do not worry about importing any.

Should be fine with Jacovip. Used them for many trips (probably 7-8 at this point cant keep count) Casa Blanca is nice on the beach and the concierge will be more then capable to assist with anything you need. The action is about a 5-10 minute ride from the house but not that bad. Make sure you book a chef a couple of nights, it is well worth it. Buy your booze at duty free in the airport it is much cheaper. Beer and mixers can be gotten in town and Jacovip usually stocks the house(s) for us with a shopping list we send before we get there.
Enjoy!

There is no problem with the houses at Los Sueños. That's the best bet for discretion, just as long as you and the crew don't descend on the marina village in rowdy fashion. You can always order food in from the reastuarnts or the Pelicano, or buy stuff at the AM and grill at the house. Good location if your guys are lined up properly for full GFE.

Having said that, for full debauchery you're better off setting base camp in Jaco.
