I have a 66 year old pal, a lonely horn dog bachelor like the rest of us, I enlightened him with stories and pics of our activities in CR and he was infatuated. he has a nice little savings and would receive a nice little ss income if he retired today, a CR retirement would be wonderful for him. :)

I am planning on "retiring" there in about a year to a year and 1/2, actually I am setting up my job so it can be done by internet and Skyp. I might have it accomplished in as short a time as 8 months, if so, I'm moving back to the land that I love. :D

If you ever check out craigslist, there are numerous 3 bed 3 bath condo's and mini mansions in Escazu for rent for as little as $1200 to $1500 a month so I was hoping that I could drag 1 or 2 friends along and live in one of these opulent places as opposed to a small apartment by myself, initially he was in, waiting for me.

Suddenly his on again off again wrinkled up old birdy ex girlfriend is back in his life, albeit only occasionally. She is starting a business and has three 20 something K*ds still living at home, mooching off mom. Her first priority is her business and the K*ds are second, he might be third in her list of priorities. :(

Uh oh...he's love-struck again, he's lucky to see her 3 to 4 x a month. He works 50 to 55 hours at a car dealership as a salesman just getting by, he was offered a promotion to go to a new hot dealership 3 hours away where he would be making a fatt paycheck. You guessed it...he turned that down because it's too far 'from her'... he also said forget about CR.

So now he works a strenuous high pressure job at age 66 50 to 60 hour weeks for chicken feed, had to bring in a room mate to his 2 bedroom house to make ends meet and is lucky to get 60 year old birdy poon tang 3 to 4x a month maximum. :( :( furthermore, there's no guarantee she won't blow him off again like she's done b4, CR would still be an option but he'll miss out on a job offer that would double his income!

Guys, just a warning, life is short, DON'T DO THIS!!! If you feel the inkling to fall in love again, do it with a CR hottie, then when your hour is up, give her a nice propina and send her on her way... 8) 8) 8)

Very good advice, Net.

Here's some other good advice............. tell Grandpa that he needs a psychiatrist. At his age, he should know better.

I take it you will not be seeking an apt. big enough to acomodate him. Very sad for him that he's so wrapped up in that woman. Who lets their 3 20-something y.o. Ch*ldren mooch off of them. I'll miss the twins when they are gone but unless they are trying to help themselves (school-work-military) they are not going to be laying on my couch , soaking up my a/c & food! Absolutely useless! That's the definition of an Enabler & it will not happen here nor will I play 3 rd fiddle to some wrinkled up dusty ole poontang mama.

That's sad but still a funny story. Thanks for sharing!!

(TOTALLY BALL BUSTING, NET - BUT YOU OPENED UP THIS BOX OF KOTEX  :P :P :P     )

That's right, Net - do it with a whore, someone you have nothing in common with and are 40 years older - do it with an uneducated girl, who started shitting K*ds at age 16, with a criminal record, and a drug problem.

Take up with her, and every time you leave the house, worry that she will be phucking half the block - try to get rid of her, and find out under Costa Rican law, whether you are married or not, just by co habitating, you open up a can of worms a mile high.

Most car sales men I know have the ethics of a goat - if he is not selling, has to be a reason - maybe he's not crooked enough - or he has not done a good enough job negociating his cut of the dealer fee - which is over $500 on average in FL - which you also get nothing for. Simple additional dealer profit - its illegal to charge in in some states, like CA - just sayin'

You are a good friend, and I'll bet you were told on the last car he sold you how much money they were loosing on the deal

He also seems to deserve this broads worthless sponge Ch*ldren - but Phuck up's - as a rule - are not Phuck up's STARTING AT AGE 21 - it happens when they are much younger - much as I don't think I like this woman, I can't fault her for putting your friend 3rd - her K*ds should come in front of him, and if she is starting a business that's a priority - even with your HDR centric outlook even YOU should be able to understand that

The more I read your post, the more I like her and dislike your friend!

Your friend sounds like one big stupid idiotic jerk - and remember the old saying:

Birds of a feather flock together!

You are a good guy, Net, and for the most part I'm f.u.c.k.ing with you - although what the Bridge Tender said about your friend I fear is the truth :) :) :) :) :)

Netgems...I always like your posts. I hope you make it down soon. You deserve it.

I had a similar incident lately. Several months ago, a business colleague stopped by to conduct some business. This guy is 62 years old, a very successful Nationwide insurance agent, with 3 offices in the area. He sat down to shoot the breeze and then he started losing it(cyring). He explained that he suspected that his wife of 28 years had been cheating on him. He hired a PI and got the evidence to support his suspicions. She was meeting some guy around town and spending afternoons in hotels with him. Unfortunately, I had to break off our meeting and could not speak with him a length or console him.

Last week, I was driving by his office and decided to stop in. We were sitting in his office and, again, he broke down in tears. He is in counseling with his wife and he says she is "reluctantly" saying she will try to make the marriage work and not see the other man.

I told him, I thought that maybe, it might turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to him. He became a little frustrated with me and a little upset with my suggestion. I told him, that his sexual market value was actually a lot higher than he thought.

I asked him if I could show him something on his computer. I brought up my facebook page and showed him pictures of some of my "friends" in Colombia. He was astounded. I then showed him CRT. I could see that wheels were turning in his head. I saw a smile come across his face. The load was lifted. He had an inkling of an idea.

By the time I left his office, he was all smiles. He was patting me on the back and thanking me profusely for stopping by the office. It was the best visit of the day.

Great story, now don't let it end as a fantasy. As a good friend, invite him to come with you to the promised land for say, a three day weekend and explain our ''wingman" concept. He can then tell her he needs to get away for a short while "to think''. What's she going to do ? She's too embarrassed and humiliated to challenge him as to where he's going and what he'll be doing.

I heard a story about a retired monger who was fed up with his troublesome argumentative alcoholic wife. This may be urban legend but I was told he came to CR on the urging of his pal and after 2 days here he called her, said he wanted a divorce and wasn't coming back to the states. They had a luxurious home and lots of money. Enraged, she said she'll get a divorce lawyer and take all he has. He allegedly replied she didn't have to, he's giving her everything and keeping only his social security and pension...that's all he needed and wanted too live here in bliss for his final days....

Update on my pal, who declined the offer to transfer with the general manager who is his friend to the Tampa dealership which is huge and busy and the salesmen there are making lots of moola. The small dealership here he was struggling at just let him go. Now he has no job and no money except his modest savings which he is now hitting. How fast do you think the beyatch will dump him now that he's struggling financially and she's focusing on growing and building her business???? :?

I think she will dump him almost as fast your favorite hos in SJ would dump you or any monger if you said you could no longer pay her. It`s all the same in the end no money ,no funny.
