I'm unclear here--was this a reference to the parlous state of restaurants? And that burdensome tax on credit card transactions? Or that so many restaurants are in peril because of lower alcohol sales because of heavy enforcement of DUI laws? Not busting, Bro VB--I'm genuinely puzzled. That picture of new fire-fighting vehicles was encouraging, especially to those living in rural areas and smaller cities.

Restaurant closing? The market is saturated so the weak will fail
Cops wanting bribes? Been happening forever.

Glad to see La Casona de Laly in EscazĂș Centro is doing well. I always take my favorita there and the place is always busy, excellent Tico food. Bummer about Bagelman's, they had very good bagels there relative to Central America.

It's going to take more than a few restaurants closing to cause Costa Rica to "fall apart". Sure it's competitive, but in that type of environment you need to market your business more aggressively.

Falling apart about like the slug fest that Jessica and Gabriel didn't have.
