You're just jealous. Not my fault the chicas run away from your midlife crisis uniform: raggedy Affliction tshirt, tie-dyed jeans and scuffed Doc Martens. And the toupe ain't helping!

It would be great if Bill would have sports hat night once a week at least
And if the blue lights could be green i think that would sooth my soul

Maybe Bill should start a promo for a "slow night" - a free sportmens hat with any $25 bar bill.

Miamiheller, do you have a Mr. T starter set to accessorize your disco outfit. I'll bet those tight fitting disco pants give you a camel toe.

When I am in SJ, I spend time in the evening at the SL just relaxing and having a few beers and something to eat. During one trip last year, the music was so loud that three employees of the SL asked Danny to turn it down (Bill was not there). Danny would not turn it down. Many guys, including me, left.

If the music in a place is at a volume that I can have a conversation without yelling, it can be any kind of music. I don't like rap, but I can tune it out if it is at a reasonable level.

IMO, I don't think the chicas like the music so loud that they can't talk to a prospective customer.

GDJ,

Great observation IMHO. I do not like the music too loud either. As I posted earlier we will continue to make adjustments until the volume and song selection is as good as we can get for most everyone. We will keep trying or get rid of the DJ once and for all if necessary. Trying to find the G-Spot/balance here :)

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks, Bill.

The ability to converse is important to us, to the girls, and to you.

Thanks for the response Bill. As I have told you in person, I have patronized the bar/restaurant at the SL every day I have been in Costa Rica, except for the last day of my trips - 16 trips spanning five years. I plan to continue that practice. I have observed that you address all complaints brought to your attention, no matter large or small. Also, your employees are top notch, always courteous and efficient.

Bill, it is an astute and caring businessman who listens to his core customer base (well, at least to the old fuddy-duddy ones ;)).

All kidding aside, the important point here is how you over the years have been consistently receptive and attentive to your customers' needs and complaints.

Kudos!

Worst part is there's a DJ playing loud Latin hip hop or I don't know what it's called but that music is absolutely awful and giving me a headache. It's the type of music that has zero rhythm and just keeps playing the same beat over and over and over again.

What happened to James Getman...doesn't he play there anymore? I saw a band play there about 15 months ago, with Jim and a second lead guitarist as I recall, and they were great!

That quickly gets to the core question--who is that music for? The Gringo patrons or the Chicas and staff?

My rumor mill says that Jim Getman went back to the States, where he has more fans, more gigs, and can make more money.

I hope that he returns to SJ soon.

If you want more about Mr. Getman (who's playing I very much enjoyed), here's his LinkedIn page:
https://www.linkedin.com/pub/james-getman/54/8b0/722 << evidently he lives about 20 miles from Nashville
