Jeff was in Holiday Inn casino gambling and drinking last week. He isn't paying his employees because he's drinking and gambling their money away. What a scumbag.

Good work Orange.
It is good you told everyone how to donate to PayPal without having a PayPal account.
It should make it really easy for all to do.
Thanks

I tried to send a donation, but it said that my cards could not be used for this transaction, both of the ones I tried.

I haven't been to SJO in a long while and don't know these folks we're helping--that adds up to a big "So what?". Bro Orange and others wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't meaningful. I just kicked in $100. What is somewhat surprising are the dudes that talk all that stuff but haven't stepped up...at least not yet.

Your right, this thread is missing some names of some people who often have a whole lot to say.

Can I say something? I cannot imagine believing in a boss or a business enough to work for some future deferred pay for 1 month--these folks endured, giving no broad hint but giving the same terrif service ( by all reports, the staff was aces) for 3 months. Let's leave any discussion of the owner/management out of this--we're talking about the folks. Donating the money that o/w would be spent on a paid companion for, say, 1 hour would be a heckuva help---or how about drinking cheaper Scotch for 2 weeks? How many times do you get to do the right thing so cheaply? No "Spirit of the season" crapola, or "pay it forward" schizz--just follow your own heart.

Isra, I'm sure you're having fun with this, but it is not cool to belittle other people that can't (or won't) help out. None of us owes anything to the Scores workers, unless we have somehow connected with them to be something more than strangers.

My crew is especially close to one person, and we have been assisting them through the holidays. That is our choice, and not our duty.

It's great that you are pushing this forward. Just remember that it is no one's responsibility to help. Encourage, don't bully. It'll get you further.

I have never been in Scores and I do not go to MP's for my shopping, but this seems like a worthwhile endeavor so I sent in $50. I would encourage everyone who is a member and has a few extra $$$ to kick in a little.

I have to say I saw the same person drinking and gambling last week myself. Did not know the circumstances about scores.
I know it was closed during the holidays. Guess someone kept the money for them self. I myself would rather
starve than not to pay my employees. Very questionable busy practice if true. I would hope to think that get paid for
There work in the future.

Bashful, you are too literal and have missed the whole point of my post.

Rather surprising to see some regulars who have something to say on every thread are rather conspicious by their absence, especially the Bill Gates of mongering in CR or Proffessor Emerites as some one called him.
Awaiting to hear his take on this thread. Maybe called "The EVILS of charitable giving in CR "
I guess people who can, DO
And people who can't TALK or set themselves up as the ultimate authority on all things CR right from how mongering should be done and enjoyed, the correct tipping procedures, how much to pay and most importantly how all gringos need to leave the gulch and go where no gringo has gone before - space the final frontier ! OOPS got carried away there.
Anyway ......
Come on guys there are Ticas and Ticos in trouble here.
Did I use the word Tica correctly here Professor ?

no ax to grind w you but why can't you just make your donation and leave it at that?
i haven't donated anything but if i did that would be my business and not yours.
besides isn't this the desperation some on this board look to capitalize upon?
maybe those bartenders will go for $40
as altruistic as this cause is it doesn't give anyone some perceived moral high ground
get a grip

I have been asked to post this.

If anybody is interested in donating to this cause, you can send to the Paypal account we used in the past for these kinds of causes:

crthelps@gmail.com

I'm the only one who has control of that account. I will be in CR on the 31st and can facilitate with anybody who will be there to distribute the collected funds.

To those of you without a Paypal account, you do NOT have to sign up for an account. I set up a donation page, see link below.

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?c ... 7GNLA9UE2U

If you have an account log in. If you don't have an account, on the left side, look for: Don't have a PayPal account? Click on Continue to donate using a credit card without creating an account.

Orange, sorry for my delayed response to the cause. I haven't been on CRT for a few days & just read the recent posts. I made a donation through Paypal an hour or so ago so please confirm once it is received. I had a few issues with Paypal last week.

Guys, I had a blast at Scores in October & will definitely miss the place on my next CR trip. The food was good, bartenders friendly & security polite. It's a damn shame these people weren't getting paid & still did their jobs with a smile which is exactly what I experienced the 3 days I stopped by.

This may not be the place for my next few comments but I really don't care after reading all of the posts regarding the Scores situation.

IMHO, a business owner that doesn't pay his employees for 3 months (especially near Christmas) but still has money to drink & gamble is nothing more than a thief with no conscience. No attempt to defend himself or his reputation indicates the previous posts are probably accurate. I would hope CRT members "on the ground" would post if the same individual opens or is involved in any other business in the future so I will know to avoid the place. No one likes a thief!
