After they came through the phucking roof in the first room they put me in, there was no way I was leaving cash in my safe. No phucking way. I carried my money with me my whole trip...which I've never had to do before and the main reason I'll never stay there again. It's worth $30- $50 more per night to stay at SL in my opinion. As of the end of October, the owners of the ML were still trying to sell the place. They don't give a Phuck about what goes on I guess.

SL is a great place. In November I stayed at Del Rey ( hadn't stayed there in about 14 years), was surprised how nice the room was , $55 and I never once worried about my $$$ in the safe---your right, it's worth the peace of mind.

But yes, seeing a big sign at reception that states "We are not responsible for the contents of your room safe. Use at own risk" makes me a bit worried.

My Gawd, are you serious? That is one step above saying "we are not responsible for any physical attack you may suffer in your room.".

I know many prefer to use electronic cards, but I have had bad experiences with cards getting lost, damaged, or just not working. I could never trust my vacation in a foreign country to them (again).

Now if we can only get the MPs and chicas to start accepting Bitcoin!!!

Where is Paco Loco when you need him? What we need to do is set these thief bastards up and put a good rat trap in the safe with a wad of $1.00 bills. When they grab the the $$$ then there should be some yelling and screaming heard throughout the hotel.

On a serious note we now have at least 4 independent reports from respectable members about thefts from their safe's. I say the ML is a no go until they straighten out the problem.

All the more reason to stay at a trustworthy place like The SL. One morning I stupidly forgot to close and lock my safe at SL. You can imagine my horror when I got back to my room after breakfast and after the maids had cleaned and saw the safe door half open. Not one red cent was missing. If that's not a testament to the integrity and honesty of the staff at Sportsmen's I don't know what is.

I know what you are saying 007, but sorry, I'm not ready to pin a medal on Bill's staff for not stealing - what the Phuck ever happened to basic honesty?

Yes, I get it - but I'm not ready to confer sainthood just yet.
