I wasn't sure where to put this so I opted for "Hotels".
I just picked up my new Chromecast. This was mentioned in another thread but I think it's in the VIP section.
I got it for $22 on Cyber Monday at Best Buy (regular price is $35).
It is very simple to hook up to your TV. After I downloaded an update I was playing YouTube videos directly on my TV. It took less than 15 minutes.
This would be a very handy gadget to have when you travel. Just plug it into any TV with an HDMI port and as long as you have a WiFi connection you can stream almost anything from the internet to the TV. Yes, even porn. You can entertain the girls all night long.

Yes, Chromecast sure works well. The streaming site (eg Netflix) will automatically select the correct bitrate, and your movie should stream flawlessly. Just make sure you've downloaded the correct google cast extension for your platform operating system. You can also stream DVDs and CDs from your laptop drive to a TV with the Beta version of the Chromecast extension. It has an experimental feature called "Cast Entire Screen." I finally entered the 21st century, and ordered an Asus MemoPad 8... and I'll be streaming using Android once my tablet arrives from the States.
My good CRT buddy, Vdc2405, heard my pleas for a Chromecast device (before they were buried in VIP), and graciously delivered a Chromecast dongle when he came to Medellin. Mi Dios le pague, Amigo!
