I'm looking for a hotel in Jaco for Easter week.
Would like to be on or close to a clean, swimable beach. Also Chica friendly should I get lucky (I know it's a bad time).
Any thoughts?

Cocal is by far the best for mongers by. If you want REALLY nice, Los Suenos Marriott would be the choice. Outside those two there would be Copacabana, Cancions del Mar, Best Western (chica fee I think), Poseidon, Morgan's Cove (both downtown and on the edge of town) and many more. The Cadillac Rock would be on the tail end of my choices as it isn't very nice and has no security or pool.

Every hotel in Jaco is either on the beach or a close walk so that won't factor into your decision at all.

I want to know what the story is with the Mangomar. It shares a wall with the Cocal and when I first saw it I thought it was part of the Cocal. At first I heard it was inexpensive and the rooms were great. Then I heard contradictory reports. So what's the truth about this place?

Right next to Expat Beatle Bar...can easily walk or ride back n forth to Cocall, and Beatle has ladies too!
Cadillac cheap, but nice enough for a couple weeks..only 50.00 with VIP. double, etc. occupancy. Can stumble to and from Beatle...excellent Rock Music Open air..even has a Condo around back with swimming pool and slide! No extra money...
