I buy a lot of mani simple (unsalted peanuts) for reasons i won't go into. Recently the price has gone up a lot at the stalls in El Marcado Central. They're over 7000 c/kilo.

Does anybody know where I might get them in bulk (besides Pricemart)?

The farmer's market on Avenida 10 between the San Jose Municipality and the cemetery would be a great place to try. They have everything else there... I think it is a Fri-Sat thing. Maybe LAdiablo knows the days, he lives right by it.

I heard the other day that there is a world wide shortage of peanuts right now and the price has skyrocketed everywhere. Something about demand being up drastically and major crop failures in several major producing areas!!

THERE IS A CANDY STORE ON SECOND AVE. ON THE CORNER CALLE 4. ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE ROYAL DUTCH. I THINK THE PRICE IS 2750 FOR A LARGE PLASTIC BAG. IT IS BIG, MORE THAN I WANTED.
