any updates on castillo. same staff, rooms, price, etc?

Somewhere on this site I saw an ad from Amistad/el Castillo that the all inclusive was being extended to 2015 and was for both hotels.

I'm assuming that my stash of kitchen stuff will be be divvied up to staff if it hasn't been already. That is fine with me. It was a nice feature for regular customers to be able to leave stuff. I left enough to set up a kitchen, with a knife, sometimes a cutting board, and an electric frypan. I know people who lived down by the beach who stashed warmer clothing. My last visit they even did a color photocopy the two necessary pages of my passport upon my arrival. I didn't even bother to get one of the IDs you get down from catty corner from the Presidente, but brought around the xerox copies and left my passport in the safe. Will the new decor have larger safes in the room? That as well as how the kitchenettes (if they still exist) are of interest. As always, since it changed almost every time over the many years I stayed there, how the bar/restaurant works will be important.

Would the kitchenette rooms be open for January/February this year? I've lived in a construction sit too often in my life, but it would still be an option. I've stayed in all of them at one time or another, starting a few months after they opened.

Has anybody checked out the hotel lately? Any word on remodeling?

When you got your tour did you see rooms 8 and 9? I have them next week and wondered what kind of shape they were in.

Trying to place the photos in my mind. Is this through the door of the old restaurant next to the lobby and connected to the rear of the hotel?

Just got a message from Darren letting us know we were moved to La Amestad as the Castillo is not ready
Have never stayed there so a new adventure

Those pics were from the window to the street. They tore out all that beautiful wood. Your lucky, they put me in Hemmingway. I would never otherwise stay there.
