Thanks everyone for your commentary. I assisted his wife with the funeral costs and currently am helping her with the legal matters she now faces. John was buried a few weeks ago after an emotional ceremony. I gave an epitaph in his honor and with that realizing that a part of me died also.
Vegas Bob, my old mind had forgotten about you meeting him on your first initial visits to CR. Thank you for recalling that. John had always said that you were one of the most interesting members that he had met....he spoke of you very well.
I hope that all of you relish the times you have with your best friends.....they are difficult to come by. Life is but a blink of an eye in this fast moving world and before you know it.....you are are well into senior age. My mind still thinks like I'm 30 years younger but my physical body reminds me that I am an old fart. John was that way also but somewhat thought he was invincible. I only wish that we were.
Again, thanks to all of you.
Circus.....still vertical but leaning a bit.
Circus, this was a very nice, thoughtful post. I didn't know John but he sounds like a hell of a guy. I'm sure he would have appreciated all of your kindness. Your post reminds me of how brief our little march on this planet . That's why it is imperative to get as much p*ssy as possible before the candle goes out.
