Did you ever wish you had a nice place to take a girl (or 3) that included one-stop shopping? When I say one-stop I mean a nice room with a jacuzzi, food and drink, condoms and sex toys available? Or maybe you don't (or can't) take your new love back to your hotel. There are places like that in San Jose (and most cities in Latin America). They are called "Love Motels" although they just list them as "motels".

I had the pleasure of visiting Motel El Eden back in 2004. I also visited 2 great motels in Rio de Janeiro in 2005 but that is another story altogether.

Anyway, here is a short report I posted back in 2005 and this year in another thread:
From the outside it looks like a storage facility with rows of garage doors. This difference here is the car or taxi pulls in and you close the automatic door.

You then walk upstairs into what is basically a small apartment. Very nice furnishings and clean. There was a King-size bed, large TV (with 1 porn channel) sitting area, full bath and jacuzzi for 3.

One of the girls picked up the phone and called the unseen clerk to tell them we were in the room and wanted to order. We started filling the jacuzzi as soon as we got there because it was going to take awhile to fill.

Within minutes we heard a buzzer and Myra checked the little door built into the wall in a small area not facing the room. Inside the little door was a tray of food and a bill.

Myra had ordered a tray of snacks like chips and bean dip, cheese, rolled ham slices, etc. They ordered soft drinks and I ordered a rum and Coke. I got a glass half full of rum and a small bottle of Coke. We also ordered a box of condoms (contained 3).

I left the money inside the little door and a few minutes later they buzzed us again. I opened the door and there was my change and my receipt, all itemized.

Total for food, drinks and the room for 90 minutes (as I recall) was 14,550.00 ($32.33)

It's located just behind the Radisson and down the hill. You can't really see the place since there is a large wall. The entrance is well marked and looks like you're pulling into a sub-division in the suburbs.

2014 update:
Motel Eden is now RUTA 32.
125 mts. Norte de la Mercedes Benz.
Calle Blancos
Tel: 233-0212
San Francisco de Dos Rios

Ruta 32 is 5 minutes from the gulch.
Room types are marked on the signs outside each section of rooms. Jacuzzi, steam (vapor), etc.
Price for a room with jacuzzi and steam is 20,000 ($40 for 12 hrs, I believe).

Thank you Witling for your valuable post, well done with the links and descriptive writing.
Prices are so reasonable and the location sounds safe. I remember reading somewhere years ago about all the Tico use of these types of establishments and the naming of Barrio Cigarette (?) as he location of many.
For many mongers with dreams of doing some non-pros or shopgirls this is the type of place they will go to rather than a gulch hotel.

The prices there are higher now. Call for correct prices.

across the street from MasxMenos is just such a place.....a "love motel". Rates are low. Never been in it, so cannot attest to "cleanliness".....for that type of raunchy f u c k, I bring and use my own rubber pad and then cotton sheets. They haven't gotten much, if any use, in over 9+ years. El Fantasy has always been more sufficient..... and the sauna is a great extra seeing as how I have yet to La Amistad to super upgrade me 3x into a room with one......
